It wasn't really a mask. It was a gauze mat thing wasn't it? The gas mask did come later, but gauze was used earlier in the war because they had limited knowledge about how to combat gas masks? I said the gauze, so whatever that was. I think C

yea that one got me thinking abit, vegetation...not necessary....just that little part of grass doesnt mean much, clean uniform....could be from the reserve trench line, trench...they always build trenches, so i picked the gauze mask cause i thought the gas mask was only introduced in 1918, before that time they piss on their mask. i dunno
Yeah it was the gas I'm pretty sure because chlorine gas was used at Ypres in 1915, which is pretty early in the war. So you're right, but not for the reason you said haha...

Did anyone do the significance of D Day and the liberation of France in bringing about the end of the conflict in Europe? Like 99% of the people in my school did the League of Nations (except me) haha

A pretty generic paper, the hardest part was WWI in all honesty.

WWI - the multiple choice was pretty challenging, for the Ypres photo I answered the gauze option. What did everybody answer for the aviation source? I chose the one that it impacted mobility or something like that.
Trotsky - first question was pretty easy, chose the joining of the bolshevik party, the civil war and the power struggle with lenin.
b was pretty generic as well, just a basic recount of events with analysis of Trotsky's impact.
Russia - bos couldnt have been more generous with the stalinism question, couldnt be easier
Conflict in the Pacific - did the occupation question, that was pretty easy as well.

Overall pretty happy with the paper, finished just 1 minute before the 3 hour mark. And one more thing, did bos actually put in the past papers the advice about length of the answers? I mean the 1000 word/8 page thing. I wrote about 4-4.5 pages for each question, but they are all just above 1000 words.

people were tricked by the 'narrow' consolidation question, alot more to discuss than some think
I don't think people were "tricked", but rather oversaw the amount of content which was needed to answer the question.

This is true. The Bolshevik consolidation is a much bigger topic and requires more analysis than Stalinism, therefore Stalinism was more popular.

Same here !!, I went along with consolidation of power as most of my preparation was focused around the first part of the syllabus. You were not completely confined to Lenin, you could also bring in Trotsky and the Kronstadt sailors so yeah plenty to discuss :)

Nope, it actually did occur. Marker might think you have an in-depth knowledge ;)

Do markers make a big deal if you write with a blue pen cos black pen is preferred? Midway through my last essay my pen ran out, had only one backup pen which was blue and didnt have time to ask markers cos it would take them 2 minutes to come to my seat and ill lose time, so i just got my blue pen and used it. Do they really care what colour it is? My last essay is half black half blue :)
