I think suicide was a poor option for Hitler. He should have led one, final and glorious charge with his generals in tow in one grand push, the dying moment of National Socialism. Possibly to the cry of "Death to Jewish-Bolshevism"!

Give anyone stability & a decent standard of living and they'll just go with the flow. I'm sure a lot of people tacitly disagreed with Hitler's regime - they just didn't fancy being repressed.
