Buttercups and Rainbows

How do you tell a friend that you like her as more then a friend??
ok, people, listen to the master, ok?
poetry. seriously, its pure gold.
heres one i wrote and have used to great success in the past.
Buttercups push up from below
Rainbows cascade down from above.
Both live and breathe for sun and rain
How they both symbolise my love.
The Forces of Nature affect them both,
The wind makes the buttercups sway,
And up in the heavens, the rainbow begins,
As the wind moves the clouds away.
Both are always there, though separate,
Are they to one day be together?
Not in the sky and on the ground,
But unified as one, forever.
The mix of rain and sun
Which gives them what they need,
Makes the rainbow seem glorious, beautiful,
And sometimes buttercup like a weed.
As buttercup gazes up at rainbow,
Gazes up at her in awe,
He can be content with what he has,
But will always yearn for more.
The Rainbow is an image of infinite beauty,
The buttercup in a field of a million.
Rainbow unique in every way,
One of a kind, one in a trillion.
Buttercup will always love Rainbow,
With the coming and going of storms.
But how would the Rainbow feel,
If she knew it was for her his heart warms.
Would the world change forever?
Would the world stay the same?
Would buttercup stay like this always,
Never sharing his view of the game?
Apart or together, both will always be,
Perhaps buttercup will find a snail to shroud,
Maybe rainbow, never knowing,
Will end up with a cloud.
The sun will shine,
The rain will fall,
‘Bow and ‘Cup will feed on both,
However beautiful, however small.
Of all the things I have told you,
This above all you should know,
I am your buttercup, always
And you, forever the rainbow.
works like a charm... no pun intended.
