I'm preparing for an english essay in which we have 40 minutes to write our english essay for an exam.

From what i remember, last year i managed roughly 1000 words in a 40-45 minute exam but some of my friends don't believe this and has left me unsure.

Just curious, how many words would YOU be able to write in 40 minutes, given you knew everything off the top of your head and just wrote non stop.

1000 words in a 40-45 minute exam is fair game. Rather easy.

I write roughly around 1000 in 35 minutes.

however faster writers can do 1100ish

if you want to write faster you should do the whole attach a battery to the end of your pen thing, i think it works.. well its helped me even though ive always been a fast writer now i just have a strong right hand as well LOL

Also get a smooth inky (but not too inky!) pen.

My friend can write about 1600 in 40 minutes. I wish I was fast enough

1000 is alright, not bad.

and that bic pen does indeed write well! i went through about 5 of em last year
i hate the kilometricos or whatever theyre called though, run out really fast.
ideas to those who want to write faster: always right with heavy pens like parkers (i use one, got it for just 10bucks) then a week before the exam switch to a really light pen with a good grip to write faster

Not sure about exact words, however, I can write about 3 pages per 10 minutes. My writing is fairly medium in size- not too big, not too small.

For my half yearly English HSC exam, I remember I wrote almost 15 pages. How I did that, I have no idea. But, I think because I was writing too fast, it was very messy, and you culd just manage to read what I wrote.

30 words in one minute, so about 1200 for 40 minutes. But I usually write less than that

I can do 1300 in about 43 minutes non-stop fast as i can. but usually can't be bothered cos its too stressful so 1100 thereabouts.

when i write an essay in 40 mins i practically write non-stop which basically means i write like 12000 words in 40 mins and i have used the battery pen which has helped in many ways and also the right pen is very important ( my friend used the battery thing since she was in year 9 now shes in year 12 and she writes 10 times faster than me in 40 mins....

I wrote 30 words per minute for my english essay today.. for roughly 1200 words/40 min
Short story, 26.5 words per minute for 900 words/ 35 min - slacked off a bit, needed a break
