I topped smiths hill ( selective ) with 91 % but i was the only person in the band 6 range overall. How many people from your year at other schools got 90 or over ?

No, that's wrong - in fact, the top mark in standard last year was 88. Standard students aren't denied access to the top band, there simply hasn't been one good enough to get it yet.

I don't understand what he means either
either way, 6.95%, as Ragerunner said, of the 21,000 or so English Advanced candidates in last yr's HSC got Band 6.
(and I got 89 )

Theres about 50 people in my year 12 year, and of the 15 or so who do advanced I think theres only 1 averaging a band 6. I was the 2hd band 6 average until the trial, which they try and tell me was deliberate marked hard to scare us into doing more work (but I think is VERY unfair, because if you have a misadventure during the HSC you end up with a very bad mark)

well we have about 75 doing advanced and i think probably about 10 are sitting in band6 at the moment after all the assessments...

We have about 48 for Advanced English.

Out of the 48, I would say that 3 are Band 6 material, if that.
