Hey, just wondering how many pages are you expected to do for your major? because apparently its like 20+ pages. How the hell are you going to write that much for 1 question/debate lol, or is half of it the background of your topic?

The syllabus says it is 2,500 words so 20+ pages is a bit extreme to me.

My students usually do about 8 or so double spaced plus 1 for the synopsis, 3 for the annotated bibliography and usually another 2 - 3 for the full bibliography.

I do expect about 100 plus for the log books - but that includes printouts from the internet and photocopies of stuff from books as well. A couple of kids over the years have exceeded that but they were the outstanding ones not the norm.

2500 words may seem daunting now, but once you are into it, it is very limiting in my opinion. I would have preferred a word limit close to Extension II English.

cem is correct in saying 2500 words would be around 8 pages.

Try not to worry about the word length, you'll fill it easily.

as mentioned above, it's a word limit, not a page limit. and the syllabus usually specifies margin widths/appropriate text size and font which will obviously influence the number of pages the work is.
As the History Extension Major Work is internally marked these things aren't specified - only the word limits for each section.

I'm wondering how I am supposed to fit mine in 2500 words...I don't think it really allows for much in-depth analysis.

I ended up cutting mine down from 5000 to 3000 words. Easiest way to cut it down is to narrow your focus/question down to something quite specific.
