I'm doing 13.
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Economics
  • Maths -3u
  • English Adv.

I find that most of my subjects complement one another nicely:D This means that studying for one helps in another, namely the sciences. All science syllabuses (syllabi  ) have one quarter in common - Physics also has similarities to 3U Maths, mainly projectile motion but also the same way of thinking and a little bit of algebra - always good practice. English is compulsory so I suppose its not really related to any ('cept maybe a bit like eco - in that both have lots of essay writing - eco also has some slight similarites to math and science - market equilibrium :D - simple multiplier - infinite arithmetic series :D )
Well my point (somewhere) is that its not the number of units but the relationship between the subjects - although, as has already been mentioned, 15+ units tend to be accelerants - still look at their subjects - usually there is a common thread - of course this could be due to university preparation (prerequistes and assumed knowledge) and interests/talents - doing more subjects means that you should be doing more study - of course - and the higher marks - thats why you can only do 6-units of science - it would be too effective.

But Earth and Environmental and Senior Science don't scale well anyway.

So that brings me to
4u Maths
Adv English
Physics
Chem
Accounting (TVET course, already done final exam)

so I'll end up with 6 exams (if i can count..) for 12 units.

I think it's all about balance and doing what you're good at and what u enjoy.
I did 13 units for Prelim:

Adv Eng
3u Maths
Spanish Cont.
Community and Family Studies
Society and Culture
Chemistry

But dropped Chemistry in yr 12 when I found I needed to focus on my PIP for S&C and IRP for CAFS and decided I would probably be better off without the extra pressure.
Personally I think 15 units is a waste of time. Think about it, 2 units is 120 hours if I'm correct, so an extra 5 units would mean 600 hours a year EXTRA work!!!! Now that's a whole lotta work!!!

13 units right now....

however nxt yr i'm dropping anc. hist......i sleep with my eyes open in that class......should've taken up drama but lines weren't right.....i'm hoping to take hist. ext. and keep eng ext. so i will have 12 units coz i majorly suck at maths.......subs i do right now are adv eng, ext eng, mathematics (hopefully can get higher in exams so i don't have to drop down to general), anc. hist (ZZZZZ), legal, mod hist. and eco

Currently in Year 11, and doing 12 units. Will most likely drop chemistry unless, a miracle happens and I start to understand the subject. Might drop ext 1 english and pick up ext 2 mathematics or keep ext 1 and still pick up ext 2 mathematics but that all depends on how this year goes.

My subjects at the moment:
english adv and ext 1
mathematics 2 unit and ext 1
economics
business studies
chemistry

I am confused, you make it sound like the more units the greater UAI. However only 10 count towards your UAI
 :uhhuh:
