I get about 6 words a line on an A4 sheet of paper.

like 38 lines on the A4 sheets we write on

in 40/5 minutes i write something like 7-8 pages

so on average like 1500+?

in extension english and history, with an hour i can write 10 pages.
i get around 12-15 words per line minimum and i dont have small writing so yours must be huge

my best was 2000 in an hour so that's about 1500 in 40 mins. though it was for my fave subject.
How do you manage to write 1500?!?! That's almost double other people's writing speed... Btw howd you know you did 2000 in an hour? Did you type it up afterward to check?

Obviously she counted during the exam because she must have finished the exam 20 minutes earlier than everyone due to her fast writing. lol

i use a laptop. and i'm a decent typer ;) there's a word count in the corner, that's how i know
typing on computer =/= writing in exam

I can type three times faster than I can write.

my writing's so slow it's apparently considered a disadvantage, i can't write under pressure for longer than an hour as my fingers are long which means i can't hold a pen properly and i can get cramps in my wrist. oh, and my writing gets pretty illegible to the point that its considered a disadvantage.
Yeah I have 10 or so friends who do that. But they only get to have extra time...(5 extra minutes per 30 minutes)

For Ext 1 English exam, we had 2 hours to do a short story and an essay.

I wrote about 6.5 pages on the story in 1hr 20min
and then about 4 pages on the essay in 40min (baaad text/lack of preparation)

the way i hold my pens- the pressure builds in my wrists, and i end up having to take small breaks by shaking it out.

Oh man that'd make it so easy. I could get 2000+ in 40 minutes instead of struggling to get 1000. XD

Edit: Though I guess it's quality not quantity... I probably couldn't think of 2000 words to write anyway. :p

well, in a modern history exam we did recently, I wrote 8 pages in 45 mins although admittedly, the lines on the pages didn't go all the way. If I know the stuff, then I can write pretty fast in okay writing, but if I dont I can't write that much without knowing the stuff properly of course

I shocked myself with 1300 in my module B trial response.

Usually, 1100-1200 though.
