I'm a bassist, I've still got a year to go.
These are the pieces I've chosen + learnt so far:

Frankenstein by Marcus Miller

Chromatic Fantasy by Jaco

And thinking of playing a Chili Peppers song with my own solo in it.

I was thinking of Donna Lee, although I can play the melody comfortably around 200-250bpm I'm not so great with walking the bass line... which is pretty silly.

Any suggestions for Jazz pieces that require a singer would be awesome.

So how did everyone go?
I washappy with mine but I ended up having to put in a misadventure because the hail storm hit right in the middle of my third piece....couldn't hear a thing....plus hoping that the music room windows didn't break...

I'm just doing my Core Performance:
- The Gargoyle by Paul Gilbert --> YouTube - Paul Gilbert - The Gargoyle

Check it out, I'm playing electric guitar and for for guitarists out there, this is a song to build on your stamina, picking technique esp alternate picking, string skipping, legato, sweeps, tapping, fast playing and harmony which will sound brutal with another guitarist.

I was originally going to play Ice 9 by Joe Satriani, but I think I'm going to do a a Viva on him...
