So i worked at BIGW nightfill from 30th september till 28th december.

On the 28th of december i complained to my line manager that nada (the home entertainemnt nightfill person) was beeing mean & slack to em & that i dont want to work in HE. So Volkan siad he would fetch it up.

My probation finished on 30th december

since the 29th of december No one from BIGW has callled me yet for work. i havent recieved a sacking letter in the mail. its been nearly 3 months since i last work.

Hvae any of u nightfillers ever not worked for more that a month without beeing fired.

they put me in fucking home entertainemnt. Nada keeped on beeing a fucking asshole by telling me to slow down. she keeped on fucking pissing me of she is a motherfucking fat piece of dog shit & if there want a FUCKING HARRASMENT LAW I WOULD KICK HER FAT ASS!

you never know, i've never gone that long btwn shifts, but i did go >1 month between the christmas shifts and working again and i just assumed i was fired. all of a sudden i'm working every day as well.

just call and ask if you're still employed, don't be such a pussy

yeah i had abotu a 3month break before, i didnt call because i liked it and didnt need the money.

some facts: if you are out of your 3 mont probation period it is really hard tofire you, they would prefer to push you into quiting

if they dont give you any shifts for 3 weeks, complain and remind them they are obligated to. ofcourse then they could justgive you 1 shift every 3 weeks but meh. If they dont take you back on, call the store manager, tell hij mwhats happening and say you are willing to switch to another department or store, that aughta scare them.... i did these things and thats how i got back into regular shifts [althouigh iam not rostered on this week i think because i accidently didnt show up for my monday shift. They didnt say anything about it, just didnt roster me on]

Call up HR. Explain to them that you, to the best of your knowledge, are still employed, but have not received a shift in XX months, and ask if you are still on the payroll.

the way i did it was i rang up and said do i have any shifts ? they said not this week
then i said is it likely that i will get any shifts in the future? the answer was no
i have nothing more to do with them

call them. they'll probably give you more shifts. you can have huge breaks and they call you back so you haven't necessarily been fired

When i was doing nightfill as a casual we had to ring up on the nights we could work, and they either said yay or nay for that night ... busy times they just organised us to come in ahead. I seriously went for ages without doing any shifts and then rang and they'd be like 'yeah, come in tonight'

After i transferred to a different uni course this year i couldnt work many nights at all, and i barely did any shifts from like january ... after a month or so i just explained what went down and waited around till they had an opening for day time customer service work - which is what im doing now

just ring and explain the situation and ask them who you need to talk to about it... they should be able to check if you're still on the nightfill list

Well i hate to say it, but your 'high profile' job at BIG W may also legally be ended without a letter simple because of your age. Until you are making the avergae income or are paying tax, a letter isnt even a fomalty. If you manage to get a nice enough employer who decides to give you a letter declairing that your job has been fired, it doesnt even mean anything legally.
In conclusion I suppose that BIG W, being a corperation who is incharge of over one thousand employees annually, probably couldnt care less. My suggestion is that you dont bother asking them for one.

dont u have to go in and check a roster? i mean, u say you haven't been called in for a shift but that should happen all the time, should it? u should be rostered.

i'd look for another job and if they havent fired you then u will probably get a few shifts when they need you (probably during the holidays)

It goes both ways, casual nightfills do get rostered on, but from my experience, they always ask me to stay back. I was never rostered on after 12, but I have only signed out at 12 less than 5 times. 90% of the time when I was casual (2.5 months before I moved onto permanent part-time) I stayed back until at least 2am, but usually 5am. Good money, but very exhausting work.

One week, I was only rostered for 12.5 hours, I ended up working for 53 hours, 9 days in a row. Thats with Woolies.
