This is flat out wrong. Private school attendees are over represented at Australia's top universities.

Private school students are overrepresented, but there's a few correlations there. Many private schools are selective, so above average students go there in the first place. Selective public schools commonly outperform selective private schools. Private school students are usually from higher socioeconomic backgrounds, can afford tutoring etc...

Obviously it isn't this simple; some people will inevitably be poor, and this is primarily where voluntary societies would have a duty of care (as they have in the past prior to the welfare state).
That sounds a lot more unpredictable than the current situation.

So BHS, how are you going to support those kids whose parents can't afford private schooling in your wonderful system? Just fuck them and leave them out to dry right?

How about you read my arguments first before you accuse me of such b.s? I set out clearly:

The market itself produces outcomes that are desirable for society as a whole: It will ultimately lift those who can't support their children out of poverty, for cases (which now will be lower than otherwise) where individuals cannot genuinely provide for themselves, SMALL government and voluntary societies would have a duty of care.

I can't blame you though, for not being able to process information and understand the logic of argument, you probably attended a public school and can only view argument through the perspective of your own misinformed emotional attachments.

And I find it funny that you paint me as some 'survival of the fittest', 'f*** the poor' kind of person - the reality is, YOUR ideology, your socialist principles, they are what cause and entrench poverty. It's your morally retarted view of compassion; this centralised ideology of paternalism i.e. 'we know what's best for you indigenous community' that leads to poor social outcomes and does NOT set out what it aims to do. And if you can't understand that because of your skewed view of history or economics, that's your problem. (Or probably the problem of the university professor who taught you b.s to begin with)

nope.avi

private intl expat school overseas. gl gutting public education funding, like it'll have any effect on your taxes. Let's have the poorest of our society rely on the whims of the rich, coz they always have the public interest at best right? Lets go back to the early 1900s where everybody had a ton of "omg freedumbs" coz the government didn't provide any services. Pretty nice having half the country being illiterate right?

and good job on calling everyone a socialist, just because im not a hard core ayn rand libertarian makes me a hardcore marxist right?

Bet you enjoying that government healthcare and university subsidy. Go on be a full paying student out of principle. bet you wont do it. Australia has got it better than a lot of places, we have low tax rates yet we get pretty good services and have a strong mixed market in both health and primary/secondary education.

I like how you avoid every question or argument I pose (especially when they address what you claim). Hahaha, not even going to waste my time debating an intellectually dishonest moron like yourself. That's right, I can make personal attacks too! :)

ayn rand must be proud of you.
*clap* *clap*

Another worthless contribution.

I feel sorry for you. All you have are personal attacks that reflect your failed ability to comprehend and develop logical argument. If you're actually at uni atm or plan to attend, I genuinely feel sorry for you. You can always tell the political jackasses from the seriously educated persons interested in truth. Incase you haven't realized, you fall into the first.

And I actually haven't read any Ayn Rand.

so what is the truth bhsrepresent. please enlighten me with more quotes from hayek and friedman. chuck in some ayn rand too.

And please provide your definition of a small government. The Australian government is already quite small considering its size. Only thing we should gut is middle class weflare and revamp that money in the form of tax cuts.
