is it just me, or does this subject have an insane amount of content? (1 Viewer)

i feel like im just spending the majority of my study time trying to actually finish my notes for each ancient module, it's taking a lot longer than i expected -_-
Look on the resources here, they have kind people who have already created notes. Use them.

yeah truee but for me i think its less effective using other people's notes, with your own you've included everything you think you would need, you understand it more, its familiar to you etc etc. thanks anyway!! :)

Pompeii you can just read the textbook summaries the night before and BS the rest TBH. everything else yea... alot of content but its not that hard, most of your marks is based on how you write and how often you quote not what really what you know.

Except the final section on the archaeologists and new technology - that's a real bitch.

read the summaries you'll be fine, i read throught the entire textbook twice during the year, than read the summaries the night before, got a 90 on the test, its honestly is not as hard as people make it out to be

i did Athenian society in the time of Pericles, Akhenaten and Amenhotep III to the death of Ramses the second. if you have any questions in regards to those I'll be happy to help

True,
I've basically looked at past papers and my money is on the final section being on 19th and 20th century archaeologists or Ethical issues. Technology was last year so although study it don't worry to much.

for the entire paper idk, there is no real difficuluty unless you fail at doing the sort of questions you find in the pompeii section, otherwise its all just essays which are easy as pie if you got structure down

Do you guys study right from the book? Or write notes?

I have been writing notes for the past few days and I am still not done yet. I find this such a waste of time, but then again, I don't want to take the risk of not being able to memorise everything... THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF!!

if its pompeii don't bother, read through the textbook like 3 times, slowly, don't skim, and you shall remmber. ofc its better to make notes but this far out i wouldn't bother.

My biggest tip to everyone is look at past papers for trends, of questions. Try and find shortcuts to minimise the amount of content you need to learn. For example, if they asked a certain question last year, are they really going to ask it again. (This is particular with historical periods)

Pompeii is really, really easy. I got 22 in this section without studying for my trials. This time I will skim through my Pompeii book and other people's notes.

I have one week to prepare for both Ancient and Biology starting from the end of English exams.

oh yea past papers are the best, if you look through the questions for the essays and you don't think you can answer them confidently, chances are you havn't made proper notes/ done any real study, better to find that out now than on test day.
