yeah, it'd make much more sense to not watch it when you've been following the whole series. right.

Nothing of significance, but those ladies at the airport at the counters had such fake Australian accents. I wanted to strangle them.

Yeah, it seems they were the others. As soon as they didn't come and take Claire's baby I knew the little black kid was their target.

They were pirates...ARRRRRR! It could be anyone really...but man, that spun me out. I'm completely numb now. How much do you wanna bet Seven will bleed it and screen an 'encore presentation'? I don't see anything else that they have that will rate any better.

Did anybody else notice that when Hurly was running through the airport that there was a group of girls (a netball team or something?) with numbers on their backs all the 'numbers' that Hurley won with on the lottery/was stamped on the hatch, etc? $23,000....Gate 23...I'm getting sick of all these references to numbers that I can't work out the connection between.

numbers numbers numbers...

what i noticed this episode...

$23,000 -what that dude got for turning kate in.
Gate 23 - the gate for the plane
8 years old - how old sayer was when his dad commited suicide.

I reckon that each of the main characters has something to do with at least one of the numbers...something that had a significant effect on their lives.. well, thats just my theory. coz kate getting turned in by a friend for money os bad and so is sayers dad dying when hes 8. i reckon each main character has had sumthing bad happen to them to di with that number and hurly is the person that the numbers 'belong to' in a sence...

just a theory.

I have only one theory regarding the numbers, and it's probably wrong, this is coming from a non maths student, but...

The numbers are 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.

add the differences between the #'s- 8-4=4, 15-8=7, 16-15=1, 23-16=7. take the differences and sum them (4+7+1+7), you get 19. add 19 to the 5th #, 23, and 23 + 19 = 42, the 6th #...

I think I'm reading way too far into it, though. Anyway..

This episode is so damn depressing.
What's up with Sawyer shooting at the pirate then jumping into the water? Shoot all the pirates and take their boat!
The pirate shot Sawyer before he could shoot them. He fell into the water.

season 2 premiers on september 21st

heres next season's premise:

Season 2 Premise
After Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, its survivors were forced to find inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. But they discovered that the island holds many secrets, including the intense howls of a mysterious creature stalking the jungle, as well as a polar bear, a marooned and possibly crazy French woman, a mystical boar, a mysterious group known only as "The Others," a ship called The Black Rock and... a hatch.

This season, Jack's mistrust of Locke will grow, as he continues to question his motives and obsession in uncovering the secrets of the mysterious hatch. The fates of Sawyer, Michael and Jin will be revealed after their raft was blown out of the water by "The Others" - who at the end of last season kidnapped Michael's son, Walt. Sun will become less dependent on husband Jin and more autonomous, as she wonders whether he is still alive. Kate's back-story life as a fugitive will continue to be explored. Charlie will become even closer with Claire and her baby, Aaron, but the stash of drugs he found in a statue could seduce him back to a dark life of addiction. The cursed numbers that turned Hurley's life upside down before the crash will continue to haunt him as he begins to uncover their meaning. Shannon will decide where Sayid fits in her life while she continues to grieve over the death of her brother, Boone, and develops a growing sense of unease about the raft passengers and their fate. In addition, we discover that there is at least one more previously unknown survivor of the crash of flight #815 - Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez, "Girlfight," "The Fast and the Furious") -- the mysterious woman Jack met at the Sydney airport bar. And Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Oz") joins the cast as a resident of the island whose story is one of the mysteries that will be explored as the season progresses.

The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 40-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets.
theres a whole list of events associated with the numbers posted on the net if you can be bothered to search for it... in last eps, they were also onscreen when hurley's car went kaput

edit: heres a list http://thelostnumbers1.greatestjournal.com/
