what is the difference between actual and apparent bias?

I swear our teacher never taught us that lol.

i had never heard of it before
but put

actual because he does have it

apparent would me that it's more alluded to so more an observation
but with a brother you woudl have it

does that make sense???

No. Apparent Bias is when a judge is so closely associated with one of the parties before them that the law would automatically disqualify the judge from deciding the case.

So it was B

I dont think actual bias is an actual concept..

hahah haaated this section, also got natural law and natural justice mixed up but i figured its an easy mistake to make...ooooh well

just wondering whether anyone knows what the band 6 cut off was for last year? i still have noooo idea how the system works but if my assessment marks in the high 90's and i'm ranked second at a high performing school, if my hsc exam marks somewhere in the mid 80's - what are the odds i'll make it through?

i think multiple choice was tricky but the exam was awesome... especially extended responses. crime was pretty straight forward too.

tort is a civil wrong it includes more then injury and extends to things lik negligence defamation so on so on and a tort is anything that could have been foreseen as causing damage or injury, they could have foreseen that someone could slip on the water causing damage to themselves or their property so it was deffinatly D fro question 8

i think the answer to question 6 was A, because of what wikipedia says "The Courts of Chancery were courts of the King's conscience," besides if it was C they would have said the court of chancery not the chancellors court because thats not what it was called.

actually i just read this common law = judge made law by the royal courts or kings court

equity = fairness, created by the chancellors courts on this site else where so maybe it was the chancellors court

I think your right, that what i was thinking after the exam but too pad i put c, you never know, there have been years where they accept multiple answers is its too contreversial. So lets hope we get a few in!!!

but the Chancellor was the head of the Court of Chancery, so its his court..
