who here has come out of the closet and has funny stories?

i would be willing to pretend to "come out of the closet" to my parents to
a) see what kind of reaction they have
b) do it on a bet and so make money[any takers?]
c) film it, make a reality tv show about it where teens pretend they are gay and film the hilarious consequences..hence make money from tv show

i think my mum would start crying but later tell me she loves me nomatter what
my dad would either go very quiet and not talk to me for aaaaggges, but then finally tells me he loves me even if i am different, after mum pushes him into saying it
or he would explode, but get over it quickly, like within a few months

I think my mums a bisexual or something any way, so i don't think she would exactly mind, but my dad ... he's a bit weird.

He would probably do the normal "I accept you no matter who you are" thing and then discreetly hate me for the rest of his life.

i asked my mum once how shed feel if i 'married' a chick, and she just had this realistic attitude like "just cos u marry a woman doesnt mean your marriage will be any more of a success as if you married a man, lesbians still have their problems" etc etc.

ive never discussed my sexuality with my dad tho, but i doubt hed be pleased...

Meh. I doubt my parents would care. In fact, my mum would probably be quite pleased - I think she thinks I'm asexual or something. :\

I told her I was a lesbian when I was about 5 after I asked her what it meant and she told me that lesbians are "girls who like girls more than boys". I thought she just meant it in the friends sense. :(

Eh, my parents wouldn't care.

I wouldn't be surprised if my sister came out one day. There's been much speculation over the years. She insists she's not, but only time will tell.

My parents would kill me.

I heard of an 18 yo leb guy who got kicked out of his home because he came out about being gay. It was his mum who kicked him out, not his dad.

In the end it became so obvious of my sexuality that I didn't need to tell my parents I was gay, only until I brought my boyfriend over for dinner it was made pure and obvious. I guess even more obvious when he had to sleep over and mum came in the room to open my windows when he was lying in bed next to me.

My friend lives with a Lebanese guy who had the same fate and he was disowned by all of his homophobic friends and family who were of course, Muslim. He now acts completely the opposite of the stereotypical 23 yo ethnic male (camp as a row of tents) and apparently is a good fuck (hes really buff and good looking).

Why do you have to come out?

Just keep it quiet until you move out of home upon which you transfer into Super Ghei!
