the pharcyde fucking rule both 'labcabinifornication' and 'bizarre ride II the pharcyde' are amongst my 'best albums EVER' pile, not one crap song.

I quite literally like everything, from rock, jazz, country, classical, pop, soul, blues, country, electronica to hip hop. There is not a type of music which I will dismiss and I am a firm believer that every genre has many things that are worth hearing. I would be lying however if I didn't say my experience in some genres is very limited. For example, I've only heard a couple of the quintessential jazz artists, such as Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk and even fewer of their albums.

Out of every genre, my preference leans towards rock and in contemporary music, indie rock. I suppose I could thus be called a 'rockist,' but that's what you get for growing up with parents whose tastes rarely ventured outside rock and pop. Also my growing repulsion for the RIAA/ARIA has led me away from buying mainstream music, but I'd be lying if I didn't say there was some great stuff on the charts at the moment (i.e. Kayne West, Sarah Blasko, Madonna). Unfortunately, those Miles Davis reissues always have me tempted.
