What do you guys think these exams ^^ will be like. My teacher thinks, cause it is a new format they might make it easier for students for the first year to show the new format works and then go as usual in the following years

If I'm 100% honest, I don't get why everyone keeps going on about the new format. Everyone always wants to do 2012 papers to get used to the new format etc. Its the EXACT SAME test, its just got 10 multiple choice questions. It'll just be like any other 4U test I think.

it might be the slightest bit easier, but overall if you know your stuff you're still going to get a good mark, and if you don't know your stuff it's going to show. Just like any other year.

yea but look at it this way. If the test is too hard ppl will bitch about the difficulty and they'll blame it on the new format, if they make the exam not as challenging as say 2006, but a little bit easier ppl will think the new format is good and will be successful

It will be fairly harder in my opinion. Because of the increase in minutes per mark, the 1 mark questions would be much harder to get as they may be considered 2 marks in previous exams but only one mark in these exams.

but the minutes for mark thing doesn't count for multiple choice where questions that used to be three markers in question one have been squashed down to a one marker

MC questions don't take very long regardless. Most of them are simple.

OP i think the test will be exactly the same difficulty as any other year. And TBH I think the raw mark percentage will be extremely similar as well, considering most people lose lots of marks on the last question, and 15/100 >15/120, I think the percentages will be the same even with the extra time per mark.

+1

Who cares of people bitch about it? To be honest, they might even make the test paper similar difficulty or greater. Since we have multiple choice questions, why should they make it any easier than previous years? Considering the fact that the people who will guess have a 25% chance of getting one multiple choice question right...

i think the questions may be a bit more difficult or the questions worth less. ie a 3 marker now worth 2.

but in saying this we do have more time to do the paper so its "fair" (or well have to wait and see anyways)

I think it'll be harder overall, there's really no second chance with MC, you either get it right or you don't

In the older versions, question 1 was always integration and it was a given you'd get full marks for them anyway
