Before stepping into a taxi
a young girl struggles to take the city with her:

Warm, sticky air bathing the street market,
comforting scent of fragrant rice,
pungent odor of dry fish,
raw flesh hung on butchers' hooks,
squawking of chickens in rusty wire prisons,
crescendo of rickshaws, scooters, bicycles;
the city she will no longer call home.

As she speeds away, the city recedes into memory,
as does the rolling countryside,
once dotted by women tending to the paddies,
children splashing among water buffalo.

Now, echoes of distant missiles pierce her memories,
murders of crows dive into reddened fields.

The faces of Angkor watch sadly
as their city crumbles,
as another one of their children flees,
taking nothing with her but me,
gently growing inside.

I understand how it relate to belonging but i'm having trouble coming up with good techniques to use for essay writing.
All help are appreciated

look for similies, metaphor, imagery, personification, assonance, repetition etc. simple as that, so I suggest you do this right now.

English maybe very hard for you lol, so don't even try, you may still fail...

Wtf is your problem? Telling someone to not even try is the worse thing you can do! I've seen quite a few of your posts lately but have refrained myself from commenting directly to you but seriously, you are actually the most annoying person that i've seen on this site. I would say worse things however I do not wish to get banned. Please just leave this site and stop trolling, you have no friends here and no one wants to even read your comments except to laugh at you! Stop posting exactly the same questions over and over again for 'help' and stop posting your fake marks just pretend to brag and make others feel bad. Med hopeful? With your huge ego and inconsiderate attitude, whether or not you're smart, you won't get in purely because of the interview

@OP: In almost every line in this particularly poem, there is a technique. Think of a theme or idea (in this instance it could be something to do with the home or memory), look for a technique, I can see many there (such as a metaphor (a comparison), lexical choice (the partiular choice of words), Asyndeton (or listing - repetition of a particular idea), motifs, hyperbole, etc), and then explain what this has to do with your theme or idea

If you want, identify your theme, a quote and technique to go with it and then post it so we can tell you if it's correct.

^Wait, isn't asyndeton the omission of conjuctions?

Okay, I'm hopeless at interpreting poetry but here are a few techniques used: enjambment, metaphor (her car ride), sensory imagery (olfactory, auditory i.e. smell and sounds) has been used to depict the atmosphere here etc.
