Well if you asked her out without even knowing her well enough to know that she has a boyfriend, then I'm sorry my friend but you're not going to be able to get anybody.

So your question is how to proceed?

Well... in saying that you're single, you kinda flagged that you like her - and when she replies she has a boyfriend well... you're pretty much stuffed.

So my advice would just be to be like "Oh okay" and then quickly move the conversation to something else, and since you can't hit it off with her - and if you're not interested in making friends, find some way to break it off a while later and never see her again. But cordially.

I started my (first) relationship in Feburary of year 12, and she went to another school, so only got to see her once maybe twice a week (there were a few exceptions as i got use to school )

Managed to make it last 11 months, survived the entire HSC and still got an ATAR of 90

So yes, it can be done, but if things screwed up at the wrong time I might've been screwed. And yes, we did have .... 'hiccups' at times (i rarely call them fights)
