na they tax you for like 50% of your pay and then when you get your tax file number u can get it bak from tax retursn =]

you get taxed at something like 46ish?% and the paid breaks are only 10mins =[

Did we all have fun??
i started at 6 each morning on the gate where exhibitors came in..just did security checks and scanning.Got to meet all the gorgeous doggies and other animals.Finished there at about 10 most days and went to carnival entry on crowd control or tickets.Was even at the Station a coupla days with the megaphone directing people.Finished this shift at about 12ish and had a break till 1 then was at the main gates usually till 7 pm.Did this every day except the days I went off to work at the footy.at about 3.
It was awesome and I did about 120 hrs at $18 an hour so I'm happy!

Does anyone know the links to the employment pages for the sydney easter show?
I'm mainly interested in selling showbags or food serving, something not very high profile.
Would they hire high school students (since the dates of the show are during my school holidays?)

i know that im probably working eastershow as im employed by RAS (royal agricultural society) so maybe hit up their website too. coz i got my bar job from them. they do other things like catering/retail as well. (i know this from my interview)

so yeah.. try RAS website

i had a look through last year's threads and apparently you need to apply through the showbag companies themselves?
i would try to do that, except i dont actually know any showbag companies.

show bag selling there sucks ass. You're cramped into this tiny little space, you get abused by shitty kids and customers about sell outs etc, and it's still usually stinking hot in that place. Not to mention the crowds.

reminds me of my last cafe job.
always bloody hot, no air conditioning/fans and the customers getting anal over stupid things (like not cutting the sandwich rolls dead centre).
