I am quite happy, however for Studies of religion 2, i am surprised because i received 85, when the whole year i was receiving 90+ results?? I don't understand, it says my examination results = 85, and assessment mark = 85? Could that be a mistake??

no you ranked first internally and they came first externally so you got 85+85/2= 85

nah its the process of moderation that gave you this. they do it to give a balance of internal marks across schools around the state

Ohhh okay, was expecting higher though... but I am still a bit confused, how could i be moderated to mid 80s when the whole year i was receiving mid 90s?

Could just be that your teachers were a bit generous in their marking. That's what the moderating and aligning process irons out.

Your mark looks fine.

Hmmm okay.

Well, so far on calculators I am getting estimates of high 80's - I mean really I wanted at least 90 but i can see i will be in the 80's. As long as i can get into my course at uni!!

Sorry, could you explain this a little more? How do they balance everyone's marks across different schools? And how could I have had quite a big difference from my internal mark?

When you were at school you did a series of Assessment Tasks set and marked by your teachers.

Meanwhile other schools did the same thing.

They you all sat a common Assessment Task called the HSC Exam. As that was the only common task it is used to moderate your schools marks. To do this they set the top exam mark as the top internal mark and the bottom exam mark as the bottom internal mark (remember that you always keep you own exam mark). They also take into account the relative gaps between ranks and the mean, median and total marks as part of the moderation process.

It seems as if either you made a major error in the exam or you school was inflating the marks which is why all along you were getting in the 90s but in the exam got an exam mark of 85 which looks like it is the highest for you class as well and so becomes the internal mark.

There is nothing wrong with your marks.

1. Your school marked VERY easily.
2. You were ranked 1 and received the top external mark - therefore, you received 85 for both.
3. You can get 10% internal RAW mark but end up with 100 if you were first and got full marks in the HSC exam - at the same time, you can get 100% and still get 0 in the HSC exam.

Your teacher must mark super easy. Lol

Sucks to be you but there's not much you can do.

I was on like 72% or something for SOR2 and I got 86 with my raw mark being 85%.

So you probably only got like 78-84% in the HSC exam depending on which religions you did.
