Aargh! part a) for Trotsky? Like some have said, I talked about his whole life which logically (and quite justifiably) constitutes his historical context. But in hindsight I think the BOS were referring to the 'historical context' syllabus dot point (groups in pre-revolutionary russia etc. etc.). Which one did they mean?

[other than that, section b) was EXCELLENT, so much scope for historians and all that solid Civil War, revolution, Brest-Litovsk, power struggle, historiography material!)]

I'm pretty confident for question two, but question one was just stupid. Guuuh LOL.

Don't they mark a bit easier for that question though? Since everyone in the state does it, and is considered a section where most students should scrape a good mark?

what a horrible question. It barely gave me an opportunity to discuss how capitalist Gorbachev was.

I argued that history is about learning from other people's stupid mistakes.

I hated the question and I ran out of time. I only had 20 minutes.
The rest of the exam was good though.

Wrote about Leni. I said how history is written by the winners, and how that provided a subjective view about Leni in the post-war world. I tore into Susan Sontag too :D

I pretty much wrote my own question and wrote about it.
i was like "no, history is more about controversial figures"....and then talked about that and didnt refer back to the question ever again. :ninja: .....My teacher said it was worth about 5 ? ...i'll go death by spontanious combustion, through my bad spelling of spontaneous
