Also, most serious Physics teachers think that the HSC Physics is a downright joke.

Does anyone think that chem teachers are better than physics teachers? They just seem to know their stuff more.
My Chemistry teacher has a better sense of humour than my Physics Teacher while my Physics teacher has a very solid knowledge of Physics. Both know their stuff, which is good.

HSC Physics is a joke, you don't learn real physics till you enter uni...or so I am told...

See my Physics teacher was much better than my chem teacher and what's more he knew his stuff.

PS I did both Physics and Chemistry. Pick physics :D

lol... yea true, but they have reason to think so... there are a lot of mistakes in the physics syllabus... things that are totally wrong... here's an example...

i was looking through those 'trusty' dot points...
it asks you stuff like... to explain the produciton of eddy currents in terms of lenz's law... which is obviously incorrect.
lenz's law only tells you the direction of the current, it doesn't explain anything about the production of it. they obviously meant faraday's law, but nevertheless, it's in the syllabus. either they're just plain stupid or no one can be bothered to change it.

sorry... *calms down* and that my friends... is why i am dropping chem...

and not physics... lol...

Hi jaaaaay!

Its great you have a strong understanding for physics. Sometimes it takes me ages to understand physics concepts but i keep on reading and re reading until i get it. I find chem comes more naturally to me.

I really enjoyed Space and can't wait till med physics... however i must honestly admit i think i'll fall asleep in motors and generators

You seem pretty confident.... have you already gone through it?
Maybe when we start it I'll appreciate it more... in the mean time

I was refering to our understanding of our world.
I mean, what's more important, creating things to improve the material standards of our society or learning, investigating and discovering the truthes of our universe and the meaning & nature of the world around us?

Uh... I'm going to have to say creating things to improve our standards of living.
you're an idiot. What's the point of improving the crap that we put around us? It gives us nothing.

by 'improving the crap that we put around us' didn't that lead us to the wonders of plastics? xD
if you can't appreciate that, then you're the idiot here =P

Hahaha that's actually pretty good. Even if it is a school joke. :p Consider yourself redeemed. :) Hooray for physics ;)

I didn't say anything about joining a religious community that foolishly denies itself of technology.
All i said is that if i had a choice, i would choose a society that values understanding and knowledge over worldly possessions and commercialism. I mean, we're all going to be dead in less than 100 years. I don't plan to waste it. I plan to dedicate my life to the things i have already stated.
