For most of this week, I've been trying to organise a group study session along with a few friends. We had planned to go to one of my mate's house, but he unfortunately had to pull out last minute.

so just asking out there: does anyone know a good place for group study sessions in and around the sydney area??

i first thought of a library, but we can't really talk (which we need to because we are going to be discussing an english text) i know some libraries have rooms just for group study such as fisher library at usyd, but do you need to book in advance for them? - and theyre usually occupied anyway (but then again, it is mid-year recess)

maybe a park?? maybe the grass outside the exhibition centre at darling harbour?? somewhere else in the city?

contributions will be much appreciated

For Fisher library, you don't need to book to get a room.

I am sure you can still talk in many of the libaries...just not too loudly.

IMHO, you shouldn't be talking much in libaries anyway because that just means you are more inclined to soclialise then study...I suggest you have lots to study on individual basis but also to study with others when you want to ask questions or explain answers to them.

oh okay, thanks for the reply
yeah, i know what you mean, we'd would rather be socialising than studying
its for an individual assessment, but to prepare for it, we oddly enough have to work together

Good thing we had a few laptops so we could talk online XD

@OP - the park would be a good idea on a sunny and calm (ie not windy) day only.... you wouldn't want it to rain :p

Just go in the morning to the study rooms at fisher library and you should get a room :)

Individual study, then go to a cafe, order some coffee, and discuss.

I'm a single child, so I study at home just fine. But when I do go out to study, it's usually just at my friends' place.

Bahaha, yeah we should go somewhere else with no free wireless net XD

@OP - you could always find some random abandoned house or something to keep out the rain :p
