I remember the long, drawn out assemblies at my old school, they nearly killed me...and the people who came first in class or got awards were the only ones who were invited to the presentation at night and they still took forever.
These days ours are fairly short in comparison as the school is small.

Mine was last Thursday. Mandatory for all students (unless valid excuse - read: Mom/Dad signs note well).

Only 1st in subjects with General Merit, Dux and other awards.
Only went for an hour and a bit thankfully.

That's...weird. o.0 And pointless. <.<

Ours is this Friday. People get General Proficiency awards if they're doing well at a range of subjects, and for every subject one or two people get the subject award. So I suppose it's the first or equal firsts.

I'm not going though :p And anyway, seems a bit pointless to sit there for two or three hours just to get some pieces of paper. My friend at NSGH told me that they have book vouchers that go with the awards, that's something. <.<

Oh yeah, we get books.
They give you voucher to get books, you go shopping and return with said book, then they put something in book acknowledging your award, you get handed book back on day.

WHO SAID WE"RE POINTLESS. :D

That'll explain why there was so much pink @ town hall the other day.

Except im lazy and i wanted to sit with my friends, so ew sat like rebels up the back with the parents (well i say like a rebe, they were allowed) and had to walk all the way down when they called my name.. i really looked smart! lol

They are so boring though and our headmaster talks forever and ever! haha
