Question missing in trial exam.... (1 Viewer)

My school's economics trial had a short answer question missing (10 marks). An hour into the exam (of 3 hours) a student alerts a teacher and they go and get the question which we had to do. Is this fair/allowed? I know it threw a few people's time management off and they struggled to finish...

Well, if it happened to everyone then it is sort of fair but it's shouldn't have been done by the teachers.

this

Since it's only internaly it's fair as it happens to everyone. However if it happens in the hsc where you're compared to everyone else in the state it's not fair

Yeah there's nothing really wrong with this because everyone was in the same boat. Assuming you were fast, you'd have started the essay by this point so you finish the first essay, then do the short answer and then the other essay. Though how didn't you guys notice in reading time?

Everyone noticed, people just kept it quiet. I personally didn't say anything because, being ranked first, it's less likely ranks will change much with a shorter/easier test.
I guess its fair enough, just surprised they didn't leave it out considering it was an hour in.

Bit dodgy.

Still is fair.

Happened to me in my IPT half yearly. The teacher decided not to give us the extra questions.

It's not fair.

Some people would react differently to a situation like this.

Regularly, no one would expect this, and some might have better coping skills than others which allows them to do better, but an exam isn't a test of how good you are at coping with unexpected situations.

I honestly think you should all have to resit another exams with no teacher fuck ups!

But if it happened to everyone. Going to be hard to argue a case.

tbh I think you should resit it. Having the teacher fix it almost half way through the exam is kinda dodgy

When you are working you will have to cope when the boss changes the scope of the project after you start working on it. This is no different. Redoing the exams would be fanciful and won't happen.

No, it's not.
Say you have anxiety/stress issues when things like this unexpectedly happen.
Done.

Yes, they should all resit.

1. You're like the WORST poster.
2. A school exam is not the same as a big industry project, the CHILDREN sitting the exam are just that, of course they are going to struggle to cope with this adversity which has happened so unexpectedly, and you don't learn the coping skills necessary until you get into the work force. So please, stop.

You're having sex. Your mum walks in. Same situation. What are you going to do?

Legit everyone has to deal with it. What if someone gets anxiety from sitting the test? They need to overcome it

Not a lot of people would keep going. Are you saying half the class should've stopped doing the test?

Some people get special consideration or provisions for legitimate anxiety, and they have been informed about the test well beforehand.
This was something that was out of the blue and unfair.

Resitting another exam definitely won't happen, is there anything else I could argue for?

Why do you want to resit it? Did you bomb out because of this?

If he/she did he/she obviously didn't prepare.

You should of had better time management.

Again. It is like cancer. Deal with it

And so is cancer.

But it happened. Deal with it
but they shouldn't have to deal with it. This was the teacher's fault so THEY should deal with it.

Have you heard of corporations being sued because what they've done has given people lung cancer? Because I have.

You could argue for the trail marks to not be counted.

this coming from you.

Okay…
