If I am looking for a band 6 in advanced maths what raw marks should I be aiming for? Also the person who is first has a mark difference of about 1.7 marks from me so how much should I be aiming for to overcome this difference?

Wat.

Saying 2U is advanced would imply 4U students have power level of 9002, admitting it is simply advanced is honest and relatively modest.

Would you prefer I shared the attitude that 2U is difficult and hence all 4U students are geniuses with impending 7 figure salaries?

No, I would prefer you don't get upset when 2U is called by its common name to differentiate it from General. I understand 4U is much harder, complex, and advanced but it's common name is MX2, so lets let that be

Its common name is Mathematics for the reason that it is just Mathematics, pure and simple.
General is General because remedial or fundamentals would make people feel retarded

Is the final hsc exam only aligned in your hsc,or do they add your marks for the first 5o% of your hsc eg assesments and add that to your final hsc exam mark then align your mark your overall mark for the hsc? .which one?

Your raw mark gets aligned. Then your internal mark gets moderated according to the aligned exam marks. These two marks are averaged for your final HSC mark.
