... so you find out what you like and can reach physical fullfillment which is what we in this materialistic age crave
But is this truly what we aim to achieve in life? Do you want to end your life thinking you're physically satisfied, or that you have achieved a state of, excuse the cliche, "inner peace"?

ok apart from the fact that the last paragraph was the least important and most definatly the leass thought out i spose i sorta believe that because of how much spiritualfulfillment has been comercialised and the fact that people whould no it if it hit them on the head that physical fulfillment is one thing that we can truly strive for and as long as you dont hurt anyone on the way and remain nice to people why not have fun in life

you are saying that you can know someone well enough to marry them without having sex with them. Which to me seems nuts
Wouldnt it make more sense to love the person and their personality? rather than just their anatomy and what it provides. besides if u know all about somebody what else is there to explore. IMO i would wait, but that is my opinion and therefore i respect that others have different opinions. In turn, i also ask that my opinion be respected and not flamed.

That reply isn't going to cut it on this forum, or in real life. You have to come up with something using hard facts that everyone can see and understand.

Sex/love.

You can only really know someone completly if you are intimate with them. Intimacy in a relationship is the highest level of trust. How can you not experience the highest level of trust and love before you get married.
Isnt Loyalty the highest level of trust?

BTW, kangaroo is allowed to believe what he does believe. Just as the rest of us have our own beliefs. His opinion also has as much merit as anyone elses so therefore he doesnt deserve to be told that "it wont cut it". By saying that you are assuming that yours is a more superior opinion. We all have our own opinions which all deserve respect. Nobody should be telling anyone that their opinion is invalid.

We're never going to agree on this.

It's a battleground of beliefs, and nobody wins.

No because you are loyal to many things. Including certian consumer brands on your friends. Anyways Loyalty is just another form of trust.

Hitler was a great man.

I dont see how you can say that that opinion is good. OR that for some reason it cannot be questioned.
i would like to think that i have the highest amount of trust in my friends. i am not loyal to consumer brands, i am partial. Loyalty is the highest form of trust.

The whole point of religion is to give people guidance and belonging. One doesnt have to be an einstein to realise that the opinion of Kangaroo is VASTLY different to that of hitlers. in fact, Kangaroos opinion has and still is held by millions, including myself to some extent. I can quite easily say that his opinion is good since i agree that sex before marriage damaging something 'sacred'. That said, you are allowed to disagree, i have not said that either of us are wrong, nor have i said that we both are right.

Of course his opinion can be questioned but so can yours. Some may consider his interpretation of the Bible to be too fundamental, however, some might question the dangers involved in premarital sex between teenagers who are not ready for children if that be the result. (i know contraception exists but is it 100% successful? i think not)

In conclusion i would have to agree with Dreamerish. There is no winner in this argument for we all have the freedom of making choices in this great democracy. The issue of religion is always a controversial one...history has seen wars over it. Agree to disagree. We all have our own opinions based upon our own upbringing, morals and admired influences.

You're making an assumption on what my opinion is, I never actually gave my opinion or said his opinion is invalid. It is a valid opinion but others will always have something to say about it. In an argument other people will always find a way to defend themselves against what he said.

God's word should be "hard" enough to obey him and not rebell against him. I realise that theres no way all 6 billion people in the world will follow God's word on sexual immorality, but i'm making you aware of his law before it may be too late to repent, and believe me you don't have forever
You can hold whatever beliefs you damn well like, but I hardly think people on BoS are going to look upon a random weirdo spammer as their new religious leader

I choose not to have sex until married. I am religious but the choice has nothing to do with religion. And I may change my mind when confronted with the situation...

Edit: my choice has nothing to do with religion

Like persephone, my choice to keep the vow of chastity till marriage has nothing to do with religion. However, I have made my decision, and shall stick by it no matter what fate throws at me, within my control. I guess I can't deny that culture had nothing to do with it though.

Well I made an informed and educated decision that I would have sex before marriage. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever with sleeping with my previous partners. I am not religious in the slightest, but I do not think this makes that much of a difference, I can still have a code of ethics when it comes to myself and morals that I follow. Simply because I am not religious, does not mean that I am a bad person, but my body is mine and I will do with it as I please.

^ My two cents.

You would think that. I don't think many people ever chose. It was just hoisted upon them from an early age. Their belief stuctures and their whole life is too dependent on their beliefs for them to ever seriously loose the faith or question it. So really it's not a choice. That's why the the religions like to get the kiddies nice and early. More impressionable!

It's like a child that has grown up thinking that her mother is in fact her biological mother. She has that faith. She had based her life on that assuption (faith). For the sake of happiness it is much easier never to question it or loose faith in it. Why would that person ever want to know anyway. Ignorance is bliss?

I know that's an imperfect analogy.
their fault for not questioning whether the mother is biological or not. the reason why religions fail to grab the attention of adults is because they become proud of their achievements as they become independent and delve into their own dogma of pride. ignorance is bliss.

to kiddies in this forum...always question; whether its religion, society or even whether your mother is you biological one. the truth never hurts.

Are you going to go and bash into a 30 year old women that has lost her children in a car crash that 'THERE IS NO GOD! YOUR KIDS ARE NOT IN HEAVEN YOU STUPID MORONIC BAT!!!'
What proof can you offer to that woman to support your case? The existance of god and heaven, being in the realm of the supernatural, cannot be disproved any more than it can be proved, so no point argueing, each to his/her own.

However the mods should ban that disturbed 'kangaroo' lunatic spammer who posts that people are implated with microchips and thinks he's a messenger from god

Yes it does. It would be so easy for me to believe. Life would be so much easier. So many things would be solved. The point is that the truth hurts many people. Religion and faith plays an important place in society. It gives people hope. If it gives people the comfort that they need then so be it.

But in many cases faith and religious values are misplaced.
...dude, that's the whole point. truth is a matter of perception. there is no 'truth'.
