i beg to differ.... i have had customers who insist on buying <$10 groceries with $100 notes when i can clearly see a 20 or a 10 ...AND its even worse when there is hardly any change in the drawer cos the store just opened!
I hate that too - especially when people pay with a $50 note for something worth like $2 when I have no $20 notes and hardly any $10's...
speaking of that - I hate it when u first sign onto a register and u check the til to find hardly any change, and no $50's to order any with. People, please leave your drawer in a respectable condition so when I jump on I can survive for more than 3 customers without having to give shotty change!

for the bitch in layby....

before spreading rumours around the store, get your facts straight. NO i was not the one that waltzed into the ladies bathroom and spewed all over the walls and floor.. in fact i didnt even spew when i went in there. So please, get your facts straight and blame some other staff member and not me, dont spread your stupid rumour around the store.. im pissed off enough that i had to clean it up myself because no-one else in the store was game enough to walk in there. I hate spew. I dont spew. so fuck off and die bitch

The only thing you'll be doing tonight is me.

To my staff on registers -

1) Do NOT read newspapers and magazines when i am serving customers, that is YOUR job, i have other stuff to be doing.

To the duty manager -

1) Just because i offer to help you pack and face aisles sometimes does not mean you have the right to demand my help when i have other work to do, which i'm being paid for doing!
2) DO NOT demand i face your aisle because you've taken to many breaks to finish it.
3) If one of your floor staff breaks something THEY can clean it up, not me.

Don't ask how I am if you don't actually care. I know you're meant to say it but it just gets really annoying.

Don't be an idiot. You know perfectly well we're supposed to be polite, but if you were doing our job would you honestly care how the person was?

Note to Self: Listen to response of customers if you ask them because sometimes i go 'Hi how are you today' and they go 'terrible' and i nod and smile telling them it's all good.

the whole big w system- i had to buy ink for my printer today ...i had to go to the shelf (fair enough) the sign said go to courtesy desk.. went to the 'service desk' girl at the desk who is maybe 2 yrs older than me goes ' no sweety ..you have to go to layby' ...sweety?
went to layby .. got the ink..couldnt take it to the register myself cos i had to be escorted..called rita, manager comes says dont call rita call michael...michael fails to come.......grr layby chick got annoyed herself and eventually did it herself!

rules to managers and system makers: make it a lot easier for everyone..if you store such things in secluded locations..let us pay for it there....if not put it in entertainment where you can pay for it and not have to be treated like a potential shop lifter

I know what you mean, i was in Big W at Warringah Mall yesterday and i heard a thousand calls for someone from computers or something to go somewhere, i don't think anyone ended up going to help.

you had to get ink from layby?! thats insane.. theres a whole freakin section for ink, why is that store making you go to layby?

did it have a big safer thing? like a thing that goes beep haha ok i cant explain it.. but i work at big w and we certainly dont send our customers to layby to get ink nor do we escort them to the registers..

ok i seriously hope this girl is not on BOS.... this girl (who is under age anyway) is a fairly heavy smoker, and once every hour, we let her have a short 5-10 minute cigarette break, in replacement of a longer break. I said she could go on her break, and she couldn't find her ciggies, and one of the boys said he thought he saw them in the bin, and she got really shitty, and searched through every bin that we had, and accused us of throwing out her cigarettes. She chucked a hissy fit, and was swearing and stuff, and I think one of our customers heard her, and was none too pleased by this outburst. She then stormed off to buy another packet (I don't know how she managed that), and when she eventually returned, she snarled at us, "Yous owe me $12 for those". I certainly did not throw out her stupid cigarettes, but neither do I care for her tantrums. One of my friends asked me if I was the one who threw them out (as a joke) and I said I didn't care, but that no, I didn't..... I'm sure he told this girl I said that, so now I have a grumpy employee on my hands.

my other colleague said to me "You're lucky you're leaving now... I still have to work with her for an hour..."
