I heard that if you score consistently well at school but completely flunk out during your HSC exams your marks doesn't get taken, but you get the marks that's highest instead. The person that actually got that mark moves one down and etc...

Is this true, or just another one of those rumors again?
Not correct.

You would be excluded from the moderation process for your school cohort so the aberrant mark doesn't affect them, but in the end you would retain your own examination mark. (Only exception is if an illness/misadventure appeal has been upheld)

What you describe is what would happen if there was an upheld misadventure appeal.

Medicine? You tend to need over 95+ to get that. And definitely higher for UNSW or USYD (which happens to be 99.95). You could get into pharmacy though at a uni, many pharmacy courses have 80 something cut offs.

My atar estimate at the moment for you is mid 80s. You really need to improve your maths.
What are you on about? This person doesn't want to do medicine... do they?!

lol I want to do Pharmacy or something related to medical. Not necessarily medicine. My parents want me to be a doctor and all that.. but clearly I can't make it... like seriously I have work really hard, especially for Maths. It's weird this year for some reason, because last year, I get the stuff and remembers it. But this this year, I get the stuff when the teacher explains it but when I go back later on I can't remember it... I've been told practise practise and practise but.. I just don't retain it! It's so annoying -_-

Looks like you're going to end up there, so inform them that it isn't shit (it is, but you can manipulate them I'm sure).
My parents on the other hand want me to go to UWS because there are so many Asians at USyd and UNSW. lol

Lol. Never do subjects because of scaling... This is why you fail.
If you're finished the course for Mathematics I would suggest focusing more on English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry as they are likely to count at this stage - depending on how far behind you are in MX1.
Also, what are you coming in IT?
They are the most freaking biased people you would ever meet. Like seriously... it's hard to manipulate them unless I'm like my brother (crazy nerd, who's the only boy) which I'm not.
and lol we should swap parents XD I don't mind going to UWS, I reckon their medical facilities are awesomer :p

FYI I didn't choose Math EXT because of scaling. I chose it because of two reasons.

1. My moronic brother who told my even more naive parents that EXT is a good challenge and Mathematics will make me lazy so I have to take it otherwise they will massacre me

2. I enjoy a nice maths challenge if I get all the time to figure it out. But unfortunately I don't have all the time, which I think is a reason why I'm failing :p

Uh.. My teacher told me we don't get ranked for IT. I keep persisting since it don't make no sense, but he keeps saying there's no ranks so.. *shrugs*

But I came first for the last 4 years for computer studies and stuff. (I picked it for our electives) But I don't think I came first because I'm good but because everyone's behaviour's like an orangutan, so it really annoyed my teacher. I'm a 'good girl' so all the teachers like me :D

Also I don't think I'm ever going to finish for Maths... there's always something new to do :)

lol I know... any tips or study skills you suggest for studying at home? The library annoys me. and also please don't say practise, practise and more practise because if I hear that one more time I will explode.

I'm not too sure if this answers your question entirely but I posted one tip on this thread, http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php/261156-How-to-study-well-and-effectively
Yep just read it then.. it's pretty good :)

It also reflects on me. I'm good at convincing myself to procrastinate, especially when I come straight from school lol I almost commend myself for my creativity each time I think of something new XD If only I could do that for English, the creativity part not the procrastination port :p (*only a short show... it's only once a week*)

Yeah, I just realisEd I remember nothing from complex numbers, conics and half of integration... So I'm fucked for mx2. Lol. I remember a bit from mx1. I think I just need to read through alll my theory before the next time I do a practice paper and then before the exams. But they aren't til the second week of trials so I'm not stressing. :D
Also you don't want my parents... Trust me. They are bogans. I'm like the least bogan person in my family... So yeah...

they were talking about you bro
Oh... Why?
I'm gonna get 95th percentile brah. I get 90% for section 3 everytime I do a paper now.

lol how carefree. I wish I can be as carefree XD If it was me I would be stressing out like crazy if I don't remember stuff (which I have a bad tendency of doing) that's why people call me a stress-bucket. and I thought maths was all about practise or so I've been told...

90 percentile.. are you talking about UMAT?
