Occassionally, but this week was the last one wasn't it? I went to it!

So how bout them cryptic crosswords? Usually am terrible but this week gave it a go and I'm surprised at the progess I've made in two tutes and an hour at manning today. Although I don't get all this 3rd 1-across etc. I figure it's obviously the letter corresponding in the 1-across clue but I have no idea how to use it. Like in 31-across, why the hell do I need the letter H to solve it? (I already got this clue because I'm awesome)
