What term will they receive?

The problem with prison is it's too costly to the loyal citizens and taxpayers of this nation. I'm not sure prison would be sufficient deterrant either.

I'd be more in favour of putting them into some kind of gang labor camp for the good of the nation. This could really turn around the decline in Australian manufacturing.

I suppose that we do in a way. We would not allow a party to run on a platform of, say, holocaust denial/jew-bashing, or legalising child pornography

What forms of political dissidence should be illegal?
The forms of political dissidence that involve illegal activity? :<

Not always tho :< Liek, some laws are retarded. And sometimes dissident activity might legitimately challenge existing laws...

speech shouldnt be censored, peaceful protests and different views should always be allowed. If political dissidents are causing problems such as inciting riots or [like PETA] burning down science labs and things like that, then throw them in prison for those crimes, not simply for holding different political views.

Of course they should be imprisoned!
If those political miscreants cannot accept the glorious rule of our comrade, Chairman Rudd, then they should be relocated and re-educated, for the betterment of the empire!!

Of course not. If there is an uprising against a government it is because, and only because, the government is doing a poor job and is in need of public discipline.

I think a better idea is to discipline them with a slightly lower majority at subsequent elections.

Dissent which is within the scope of the law is clearly ok. For example free press, free speech, free association, free assembly where things cross the line is activity which aims to or achieves the injury or death of other people or the damage of property. So by all means have a protest march but don't have a riot.

The gray area would seem to be peaceful restriction of movement. E.g. is it OK to sit on a road and block the US presidents motorcade? World Bank representatives? Uranium shipment? Bus load of asylum seekers? Military convoy? Someone doing their weekly grocery shopping?

why throw them in prison?

Just execute them instead.
