I agree with what I think you mean, but my point still stands
yeah ur right, it's kind of bad when an 99.95 student gets a fail or credit in uni...
How you perform in school to some extent doesn't reflect how you perform in uni.

Yes this. All the tutor-reliant students die out
This

Tutor reliant people don't know how to learn independently , which is a valuable skill at uni..... Very valuable skill

They don't spoon feed you all the information at uni, you gotta tease it out and synthesise it from your sources

you can't make an assumption that all tutor reliant people are dependent learners
i go tutoring for some of my subjects and lots of the work i do is self-driven...like im not completely dependent on my tutors, they're just a source of help for me. not a source to sponge off.

and some people really struggle with learning the traditional way in classrooms (esp. with subjects they don't like), so sometimes tutors really help them get through. that could be different in uni when they do subjects they like, etc, etc

I learn better outside the classroom; I currently don't get tutored though..

Some teachers are better then others, so which is why some 'need' to go to tutoring.

Reliant is the operative word though - just because you go to tutoring, doesnt mean you are reliant on it. A lot of people (such as myself and I'm assuming you as well) go to tutoring to get a bit of an edge or to compliment their classwork/individual study. In this case, you arent really reliant on the tutor, it's essentially a support mechanism. However, there are people out there who are pretty much dependent upon their tutors to do well, either because they are too lazy or incapable of helping themselves (i.e. people who get tutors to write their english essays for them). These are the main types of people who will struggle at uni, because as nerds pointed out, the ability to work independently is essential at uni.

So, I think it's more an issue for people who dont utilise tutoring properly, as opposed to all people who use a tutor.

When you get to uni these are the only things which you could probably still boast about. ATAR is barely talked about (Have not been asked once this whole semester and I've spoken to probably 50-100 people).
...if someone boasted about getting all band 6's at uni, i would feel so sorryf or them.

I both are GREAT, but i'd prefer the all-rounder for the ATAR, cos I'd rather be 90+ for all subjects, rather than a 100%/1st for one subject. Then again you can be an all-rounder and have state rankings. But I'm not from RUSE :)
