Subjects for NEXT YEAR help, I'm confused. (1 Viewer)

Okay, so I am currently doing 13 units, thanks to my 3-unit maths, and I plan to drop one subject and do 12 if I can pick up 4-unit maths. However, I'm not sure about this:

What if I can't do 4-Unit but can do 3-unit..I will then be doing 11 units...Then whats the point of doing 3 unit mathematics?? Or are there 1 unit courses I can pick up so I can choose which subject not to count in my UAI? I've asked alot of friends and they don't know so I thought I'd ask here.

why would you not be able to take up 4unit maths? personal ability/concerns about ability, or lack of teacher for the course, etc?

i know a girl doing 3unit maths, she finds having the extra unit ontop of the 10 enjoyable.

also, considering you arent already doing ex eng1, and arent doing a history or language, im fairly sure there isnt another extension/1 unit class you can take.

dont take that as gospel though, i could be wrong

Well you see...My school requires to to be in the top 20 marks to get into 4-unit mathematics, and right now, that isn't looking so bright for me....

That is quite idiotic. Not all people are capable of Mathematics Extension 2. I don't think so.

EDIT: imoO, See how you go in Mathematics Extension 1. You wouldn't call yourself worthy of Mathematics Extension 2, if your result is not good.

My school is trying to force most of the accelerants into doing 4U math. I'm automaticly enrolled into it at the beginning of yr 12. I'm sure i'll top 4U math, even though i've been coming 2nd so far !! I just don't understand why I'm getting beaten! Sure the 1st place person studies a lot, but I reckon i've done enough work and i'm clearly smarter! I have a really bad stomache ache...

like 9/16 in my class...and there are 3 other classes :S...and they are all pretty balanced in terms of how well the teachers are and the results they all yield.....

I wouldnt recommend it then, if your ranked there then I doubt you would be able to cope.
If you start really putting in the work however everything is possible

Your best 10 units (incl. 2 English) count, and therefore all subjects are split up into units of 1 and a mark out of 50. So if you got an 88 in Eng Adv you'd have 44/50 and 44/50. If you do 11 units, 3 unit maths may count, as 1 unit of another subject may not count.

Erm, foram, stop changing every single thread about people asking for subject help into your ambitions for first in the state in 4U Maths/Physics/Chemistry/Economics.

You are already awake today!!! I didn't do any studying. I just woke up because I had parents-teacher interview yesterday (went to bed at 11pm).

I generally always wake up at 5-5.30. Don't have crazy wake up times like you though. But I had to moderate a couple of other forums that I visited, so that delayed things a bit.
