woah. shit. lets see if there is a 100hsc mark this year.
somehow i don't think so though, they always compensate for easy exams with hard marking.

if such a subject does indeed exist allow me to express my heartfelt derision. how the hallowed domain of number theory could possibly gain anything from the dreaded analysis people, i am yet to be convinced of. prove me wrong.

especially that pi/4 identity. who cares. give me gcds and euler phi-functions any day

i love the internet, u can start arguments so easily
lol they'll shoot you down while you are not looking.
But i agree with the number theory comment.
I even prefer digit quesitons over analytical ones.

Reminds me of a math doco we watched in class; warfare between mathematicians in the 18th century :p

I'm happy with how I went... I don't think it was as hard as I expected, but maybe cause I listened to too many teachers making predictions about weird Luna Park rides...

That conics q was scary... a P without coordinates... and was too intimidated to give it coordinates, so I screwed up there... very ironic that Conics was my pet :D

Expecting <95, but that's OK, cause I finished and was happy with the whole thing... ahh... but need to stop procrastinating and study... exams tomorrow and the day after :(

HOLY CRAP! I didn't do the partial fracttions properly.
Jeez, do you think they'd give CFM ( correct from above) marks?

When i multiplied out the denominators, i forgot to times that 1 by (x+1) ... and ended up with a = 7/4 b = 11/4

i would be stoked with a raw of anything over 100 out of 120
but i am expecting 90 cause i didn't even get up to the last question and couldn;t do the conics or probability

do a google search on laurence field.
in case you didn't know who he is.
if you did, I think it's quite normal for someone like him to expect higher marks.

lol i searched laurence field and came up with a sculptist/artist.

But then i found the SHM article.. so you won a silver medal? Well in that case, I no longer doubt you when you say you were "cut" with 117.

No, they're just intelligent people. You telling him not to be disappointed at losing one or two marks is like telling Brad Fittler not to be disappointed over not winning the grand final.

He's just acting the way he should be.

i should clarify, most maths pros don't study much

laurie, most people wouldn't consider 5 maths papers as study for the HSC:p
