yes it was against portsmouth but here's hoping that its enough of a confidence boost to start a revival. im still shocked by the fact that even with liverpools poor form that we are still right in the middle of the race for 4th

Gerrard proving yet again that he's a thug

Sorry, nobody told me you were the person in charge who judged what can and can't be posted in this thread

Maybe you should put yourself under a self imposed ban so that you're not consistently making posts that make you look dull

so true. Inter played a weakened Chelsea side particularly without Cech, Cole and Essien who are influential first team players.

Mikel is clearly not a Defensive-midfielder, from what his youth days suggest, he was an attacking-minded midfield/forward at his Norweigan youth club.

This Round of 16 tie has proved:
  1. Chelsea need to re-invest eg. Sell players like Belleti; Deco; Kalou and Buy at least 2 decent attacking talents in the next transfer window eg. Aguero/Pato/Gervinho
  2. Mourinho is truly the 'Special one' as he has proved throughout his coaching career, at this rate, he seems likely to become Ferguson's successor at Man utd.

after watching messi you cant help but wonder how much of that is just pure talent and how much of it is practice.

Re: The Official Football Thread

stop drogba and you stop chelsea
This is a very good point to make. It is also Ancelotti's fault for playing Anelka on the right-side, when clearly he is meant to complement/interchange with Drogba as a centre-forward.

In summary: Chelsea --> Get rid of Drogba, Ballack, Carvalho,Deco (while they are still worth money) and actually BUILD a younger team like Arsenal and to some extent Man United. :uhhuh:
