Re: The Official A-League Thread.

You honestly beleive Pantelidis and Vargas deserve 3 and 2 weeks respectively? Keenan fair enough, but if you think the other two are deserved, you're kidding yourself. The FFA needs to have a good hard look at itself, because it's becoming farcical. Griffiths punches a linesman in the nutsack and gets nothing. Petrovski should be the one getting the weeks for simulation. Vargas doesn't cry for no reason.

And no, Milicevic is still injured anyhow. It certainly makes for a mouthwatering game.

Well well, FFA has now downgraded Panta to 2 weeks. Looks like they've had some fucking sense knocked into them. Now for Vargas's ban to be lifted.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

i am starting to think that FFA just roll a dice when deciding how many weeks to add on though. the initial suspension for panta was prob a week too long but for FFA to go back on their decision just makes them look like a joke. suspended suspensions, no proper process for being cited on video evidence, it's hard to believe they call this a professional league. i wont get into their stupidity covering zadkids suspension "yes you did us a favour and released him early because he was suspended but that means it doesnt count as his suspension". panta should get some special award for such a mad hack on griffiths, does anybody actualy like that bloke? even breeze seemed to hate him on sat.

edit - and i dont have to agree with the suspensions to enjoy them and the holes in your defence they bring.

If they can use video evidence to suspend players, surely they can use it to clear players as well. Tiatto and Musialek got on this bullshit suspended sentence, but why is it the FFA have turned their backs on this ruling and decided against using it anymore?

Muscat is still a solid defender and Melbourne look to have recruited well in Steven Pace. It's not going to be as easy as you think.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

i've got no problem with video evidence, but surely it should be used when the initial suspension is handed down, not only upon appeal by the club. if we allow clubs to appeal then there has to be some formal tribunal formed. having a suspension announced to the public then reversed 3 or 4 days later is completely idiotic.
in short the HAL suspension process is fucked, the fact that panta got some justice through the appeal process does not make the appeal process correct, just less fucked than the initial process.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

the last thing we want is an afl tribunal system. firstly, the standard of refereeing must be increased, secondly, video evidence should only be used to charge those guilty of serious foul play. I'm not talking borderline calls, i mean things like Griffiths punching the linesman in the fucking sack.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

video evidence was used in the appeal that got panta's suspension reduced. are you agreeing that while the initial decision was harsh reducing it on appeal was even stupider.
the refs system needs to be massively overhauled, so much just politics at the moment. we made the players and clubs go fully pro and try to leave behind all the infighting of the old regime, yet we still use the same semi-pro refs.

edit - i never suggested an AFL style tribunal, just that some formal code for how matters should be handled has to be established, right now FFA are making it up as they go along. there has to be a procedure for these things.

it's rediculous full stop. Sydney's mediocre history against Melbourne continues. In the 8 regular season home and away games thats now 4 to melbourne, 3 draws and 1 to sydney.

Central Coast beats Adelaide 2-0 and goes 6 points clear on top of the ladder, with Aloisi scoring both goals.

So what happened in Melbourne anyway?

Cricket/AFL bogans will take the bait for sure. How something like that makes channel 7 lead story is a laugh.

OK, let's get this right people, Sydney is just a bunch of handbag carrying girls who no-one likes (hence why they're dubbed the Manly of the A-League), no-one cares about melbourne, the coasties will always be scum and the Phoenix, Roar and Glory can get lost. GO NEWCASTLE!!!

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Nobody cares about Melbourne? Crowd figures tend to disagree....

I would also like to comdemn the behavior of those Sydney fans who felt the need to bottle a tram injuring those inside. Disgraceful really....

wow, the first spotting of a newcastle fan and it comes after glory smacked them 4-1. though it does feel bad bagging them out, it's like teasing the retarded kid, you just feel sorry for them.

200 people blocking the away exit. fan taken to hospital due to head injury sustained from coins being thrown, he had only just dodged a glass bottle when the coin hit him. but you'll of course keep whinging about the tram and the walk of shame saying it was all sydneys fault. so much easier to demonise one group than admit that there are fuckwits everywhere and melbournes larger numbers mean larger numbers of fuckwits.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Away fans should be held back for as long as necessary. That is police and securities fault more than anybody else.

Throwing a coin vs throwing a bottle at a tram, calling the kettle black.

Every state has its fuckwits, that is clear, but when your fuckwits start travelling to interstate games and causing trouble like that, that is something to be alarmed about. Of course 15 year old heroes will act like hard cunts in their own backyard, but will their moms allow to them travel interstate? No.

When you have mature fans travelling interstate going around no holds barred, trouble is bound to happen. Last time Melbourne came to Sydney was such a thing played out before the media?

Actually I know a few people wo would be alowed at that age, BUT there does seem to be an actual problem with Sydney fans. First its the fat kid throwing a water bottle now this. It has only been three seasons and this is the crowd that we are atracting.
