The main reason is the board of studies is infested with left-wingers, who bring to the fray overwhelming amounts of socialist rot into the education system in a vile attempt to warp young minds and turn them into liberal sissies and who say "OH NO A WAR!!! THATS SO INHUMANE, WAR IS EVIL NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE I'M A LITTLE PUSSY".

The evidence of left-wing subversion and infestation include: postmodernism (which is also in 3 unit mod. history.)

And the way in which the war in vietnam is portrayed in mod. history.

There are many more examples.

PS, War is not necessarily evil, but it strengthens the human race.

Strengthens the human race? Bottlenecking?

What about Australia in WWI. A huge proportion of the country's fit, healthy young men, most of the variation of the gene pool, were unnecessarily killed. Given near no chances of survival in many cases out of the faults of others. For what? Because politicians and leaders can't sort out their own disputes. "strengthens the human race" indeed. What you're saying is about as ridiculous as, or more so than, saying that all war is bad because people die.

Attack Modern History if you want, but I don't see why the whole HSC system is to blame.

Also, there's not 3 unit Modern History in case you haven't noticed.

I guess they mean extension history which would be 3 units of history, in a way.

Further prrof that people are only happy to define themselves as 'individual' when 15,000 other people share the same opinion of the HSC (if not the same details of that opinion). Take a number and get in the fucking line.

I actually tend to agree, at least about the HSC, and then also about war to some extent. I hate it when all war is made out to be evil.

eh.

venting much?

i hate all aspects of war. i don't get why people should have conflict when solving a problem. all the death's that arise in wars are unnecessary. and what for? to "strengthen the human race". its hardly strengthening it as people are DYING and being injured for this alleged strengthening.

war = bad.

I thought the purpose of education was "educate" a new generation of people in order to benefit the world in which they live (call me idealistic) Many say we learn history to learn from past experiences. They teach us about global warming etc in Geography to makes us aware of current problems that must be solved. that teach us english so we can reflect on our world through studying the views of other writers.. overall i thought the purpose of school was to improve the world through the education of its citizens (arguably positive and negative results nonetheless..) War is a bad thing. i dont think anyone whose lost loved ones and even those who have could say it isnt. Yes you can defend it and say its necessary but i dont thinnk anyone "likes" death like this. Therefore thats why they teach us about war and its bad effects. In the hopes that we'd learn from past experiences...shame it doesnt work so well.. However i dont think teaching "war is necessary" would benefit anyone either.

If you happened to be Vietnamese civilian during the war then I think you'd view it quite differently. The whole point of learning history is so you don't end up with another world war or vietnam. I don't think the HSC is left-wing in any way. Chemistry is about getting things we want, but also the environmental and social implications and responsibilties for example.

I certainly wouldn't want to study your right-wing HSC.

Oh, no, the DET's plan seems to be working...

Don't you see that the Po-mo-fo unit absolutely sux because the gov't doesn't WANT you to like it and be left wing and be politically aware? They just want pussy intellectual tards who cant speak up for tehmselves and yell "Heil Howard".

The Pomofo unit sucks. I know. I did it last year. But the DET sucks more.

At one stage during my HSC Period, I thought so as well. I couldn't agree better.

This was especially the case with English, it was after the HSC that I began to understand that...the HSC is just the beginning, if you can't deal with this pressure, how can you cope with university, how can you cope with say your new career in the department of defence for example.

So...just remember, whatever comes in the way, don't fight it,but go with the flow.

Umm, if you feel so strongly for war, you can go fight in Iraq, be my guest.

The only organisations that profit from War are Banks, everyone else or the majority of the working class suffer. People lose lives, families are ruined, diseases famine ....the list goes on. For some reason, strengthening of the human race is not in that list...hmmm?

Until the BOS is FOR wars, you are stuck with their left wing 'propaganda', so suck it up, and shut up.

Phew this anger is contagious. No hard feelings though, im attacking your statement moreso than you. :)

How about when the war is to stop a worse evil? Eg. WWII Fighting to stop genocide and other evils? War is in of itself a bad thing (Unless you're an arms manufacturer) but sometimes the only alternative.
I would rather lose the 50 million lives of WWII than live under Nazism. (And yes I had relos die in that war)

To the original topic. I hate HSC English. And I honestly know only one teacher that votes right wing. I was talking to one of the English teachers and he rekons the only 'Righty' teacher he ever met was married to a liberal candidate. No left wing bias my ass. Note: Don't write essays espousing conservative views (And never suggest that perhaps women have diffeent roles to men, however non sexist you are being). But always fun to start an English class with "And the other day when I was at this Young liberals function..."

If you're getting marked down for conservative viewpoint, you're probably just shit at it, not ideologically persecuted.

All politics aside, being a Young Lib automatically makes you an arsehole.
