i hope you're joking! he'd make the english side with either his batting and bowling abilities alone.
for some reason so can ashley giles.

anyway, good test match it seems. i was listening to it for a while on the radio and there was kallis praise all round. south africa have a solid four batsmen still to come, and with kallis and AB already establihed, they should be looking to a 400ish total.

yayy...aussie gonna win...i hope

i cant believe that qld made 900 runs...thats crazy...like there were 2 centuries and 2 double centuries...they did awesome

hopefully South africa wont follow their lead and smash a huge score...only aussie can since they seem to be doing pretty good...leading by 311...yayy

Queensland vs Victoria turned into the most boring match ever.

Australia 4/307 (dec.)

Hayden 102
Ponting 116 -- centuries in both innings to bring up 30th career ton, congratulations!
Gilchrist 24 (9) -- including 22 off one over from Nel .. 4, 2, 4, 4, 4, 4

Binga missed out on his hattrick, Smith was too pussy to face.

South Africa need 410 to win .. 0/6 after 1 over.

Anyone keeping up?

Minimum 10 overs left, AUS need one wicket, Ntini and Boucher at the crease (same pair who won the world record one dayer)

Yeah, keyhole surgery on his shoulder in London. Will be out for about 3 months.

I think there is also a "need a break from the bad run" related illness. He needs to go out on a high and on his own grounds.

great win for the aussies. ponting is a genius, 30 test centuries with a good 5/6 years to go for him. he'll definitely be remembered as one of australia's all time great batsmen. in my opinion he's our best since bradman.

I think he can chase down Tendulkar (he's got the most tons right?) for the record, I reckon he'll last longer than Tendulkar anyway

Tendulkar is on 35 Test centuries, from memory.

I think Ponting will go past that in the upcoming Ashes series.

ponting is pretty amazing. already 4 centuries this year from only 3 matches. he's got a tour of bangers coming up and they are the only country he is yet to score a ton against so he's due against them. he has the third most centuries of ucrrent players with only tendulkar and lara ahead of him. i believe he'll take over both of them. he's younger than both and peak form for batsmen usually comes at 33/34. we also must praise hayden for 26 tons from just 81 tests...he has probably beent he most consistent batsman of the last 5 or 6 years despite that rough ashes patch.

smith is out of the last test with a finger injury...what a pussy!

but australia tend to play more test matches than india, all in the name of money. so that needs to be taken into account. u got it all wrong:

For 100s Mts Aus Eng RSA WI NZ Ind Pak SL Zim Ban
SR Tendulkar Ind 35 132 7 6 3 3 3 - 2 7 3 1
SM Gavaskar Ind 34 125 8 4 - 13 2 - 5 2 - -
SR Waugh Aus 32 168 - 10 2 7 2 2 3 3 1 2
BC Lara WI 31 124 9 7 4 - 1 1 2 5 1 1
RT Ponting Aus 30 102 - 5 7 6 2 4 4 1 1 0

lol england really sucj! 32 centuries against them.

I remember reading somewhere (cricinfo?) that some research/formula worked out that Hayden is the best batsman for the last 10 years. I dunno how that was worked out though..
