The first thing I thought was "Aha, he just made an ass of himself", but then they said "WW1" and I thought wow, that's so appropriate. and true. the whole falling down thing so wonderfully symbolic.

*Bjork - weird. Was it English? She cant speek greek...and it wouldnt have been Icelandic....just, weird. But hey, i got so excited when i saw her :D Too bad she was the ONLY music performer, compared to the plethora Australia had...but the Greek Organisers DID say that.
Yeah, but look at who that plethora included.. Tina Arena, Nicki Webster... I'd take Bjork over them anyways. :p

i love how the olympics gather everyone together despite political tension between nations, that is very touching.
i find that im watching the games instead of studying for trials/hsc.

Whoever said bjork (and the dj) was a much better choice than the music at sydney is right. I remember the songs at sydney being sooooo cheesy. "Dare to dream"? ugh!

yeah from that race i'm thinking maybe it's true thorpe is past his peak, 3sec off his record. but also being in australia, with a full stadium, and the full stadium cheering for you, that would make anyone swim better

OMG!!!! What a freaking Amazing Swimming Day!

Womens Freestyle 4x100m! YAY! And Susie being there to present the medals, oh - how special! And the hugs, oh! This is one to treasure. So happy! And now all 5 (yes, 5) are GOLD medal winners. Poor Susie never got the chance to GOld at the olympics in a relay. Highlight so far, BY far!

Michael Phelps gets his gold! YAY.

ah, i'm not cheering. the fact he broke the WR it mean's he's serious about the 6 golds (he may not be as hyped up as i thought he was) and that means he has a damn good chance of taking the medals away from us... this should provide for some excellent competition, i can't wait!

Ohh, I watched the beach volleyball last night and this morning as well. That was cool.

Yeah, Russia and China always dominate the diving. And the boys got bronze too.

Those brits didn't deserve to get such a high score for their last dive in the men's synchronised diving though. They didn't even enter the water at the same time.
