I foresaw this moment... the moment I got my AOS assesment back I knew I was going to get a dice-roll mark. But I wasn't expecting the surprise I got. Apparently on the marking sheet, one (of the five) texts I was supposed to do was crossed out, marked 0. Ok, there was a brief moment of doubt that in my haste during the exam I did actually forgot to write about a whole text. But no, sure enough it was here, there, everywhere. Why did I get 0? On top of that, it seems I don't know the correct form of an essay, as reflected by my mark in that criteria. Oh, and I can't integrate and synthesize and link ideas. Wow. Hey, how do you guys write a typical AOS response aye? Do you do what all those in my school did and take it text by text at a time? (No dont answer me, I dont want to know, but if you did it like that, you can't link ideas) Im so friggin sure I linked... every paragraph is an idea related to my argument, and then comes the texts which contain that idea. My teacher taught me how to do that; I think she's right. So does my class. This is what synthesis is. But apparently no. Those who took it a text at a time got higher marks. Why? Of course its cos it was EASIER for the lazy marker to identify what texts u did! No, she doesn't care about the actual outcomes of this course, she just wants to make sure everyone at least mentioned 5 texts in their response. The shorter it takes for her to do so, the higher the mark she gives. Simple.
So back to how she missed 20% of my essay. Any sane person can deduce that if she ignored 20% of the essay, she may as well ignored the whole thing. lol How could u miss about 20% of my 8 page essay?! There were pen marks - squiggles of some sort on the first page, (though I dont really think they were intentional at all) and thats about it. Shit, so she read the first page and gave me 50% for all the criteria.
Mind you, this teacher's known for her bias in marking, and her attn to superficial shit like handwriting. Yeah I admit my essay wasn't in times new roman but its READABLE. Yes it is. Did she try? hehe... fuck no. Hey, I noticed a trend; all those who write like cunts got nice marks. Yet, they had the same shit from the marker; a few pen doodles on the front page, a void of comment on the criteria sheet etc, but the difference being they had more 4s occurring than I did. Did she even read their essays either? I doubt it. The front page, maybe a quick scan of the intro to scope out the texts we did.
Im not being a sore loser, as those of you who thrive under these unjust marking regimes would think. If the teacher actually justified why I suck then I would hack it.
See, the main problem about this now is the fact that she didnt even read my essay. She pretty much judged me by my handwriting. And I wouldnt mind that either, IF HANDWRITING WAS A CRITERIA IN THE FIRST PLACE! But no? where? I dont see it.
I did everything I was supposed to do... everything. I swear, I wrote more than 10k words worth of extra prep essays etc for this task. It basically felt like I wrote a doctoral thesis on journeys! But did it help? Hell no. You might even say it stuffed me up even more cos now that I've put so much effort in and got out so little, my trust in this world has weakened even more.
I know I'm not good at english, I didnt go into the exam expecting to top it, but neither was I expecting to be thrashed by peope doing standard as well. I memorised whole adaptable essays for the task. But then you have these delinquents that just walk into the exam room with jack all, and write three pages in 40 minutes, then bitch about how they didnt have enough time. And whats worse is these people end up beating me. And no, I wouldnt mind so much if the teacher justified WHY it was good, but no! no comment as well! just like evryone else. Fucken english, about as random as lotto.
People ask me why I'm so shit at english and why I would do EE2. I tell them precisely cos english is a game of luck (in my school, not saying the subject is bad) and that I know I need to work harder than others would need to, to compensate for the laziness and negligence on the teahcer's behalf. They look at me funny and walk off
See, in subjects like math, teacher ineptitude wont affect my results. if they cant understand my proof, they cant get away with a few dashes and doodads of red pen on the front page and give me a fail mark. No, they would have to consult someone better. Thats why Im better than the retards at my school at math. Cos the sum of my effort and skill exceeds theirs. But for english, this sum is irrelevant. English is a game of dice. And No matter who I complain to, and how convincing I am, Ill get some pretentious bullshit response and then ignored like I always do. I just can't win in this system.
