I intend on doing English Advanced again (accelerated in it - new AoS gah... >_<), and I'm aiming for mid-90s. It seems that memorising is the key for essays, since questions are repetitive, but what about Paper 1? Any tips on Section 1 and 2? I'm looking for certain ideas that should be mentioned in general, in order to maximise marks.

(And tips for essays would be appreciated too :D)

* Yes, I know there's a thread up there about studying and such, but I'm interested in tips for the exam. Scored 83 in the exam and 90 for assessments, so there's a lot of space for improvement. Don't want my exam mark pulling me down again this year =_=

Thanks!

Noooooo
You have to show creativity and flair... do some pieces while timing yourself, then hand them to a teacher or something to mark

not neccessarily. this is where good english teachers come in....

my english teacher was great. in year 11, we started the preliminary elements of change, e.g. the creative writing pieces and short answer pieces... we did them timed in class, about twice every term, and then she would sit down with us and tell us what we could improve, then she let us do practise essays and she'd mark them for us
it was a really good method, it improved me a lot
