Still haven't recieved any of my marks back from trails...

but judging by what the teachers have said and I heard... a lot of people stuffed up bio, only three peeps managed over 90, and a lot of people screwed up AoS paper lol

could some one please explain how internal assessemt marks work, for example, you always keep you exam mark, so then how does you overall assessment mark get worked out.

I am coming top 10 out of 16, so how would they work out my assessment mark, can I still get a band 6 for chemistry. what if i get 97 in my exam, so that does mean I keep my 97 as my exam mark and also my 97 by rank 1 assessment mark, what ever he gets as his exam mark. so would would my assessment mark the 7th highest mark in HSC common exam.

I got 10/15 for Creative and 12/15 for the essay (AOS)

Anything less than a Band 6 is a stuff up IMO and I got a 14/20 for Module B and a 16/20 for Module A (17/20 being Band 6). They would be awesome marks for anyone else but not for me.
16/20 is a band 6.

we got a massive lecture today in chem about how bad our grade was. i reckon we're going strong for maths, history and languages though. we've never been that great at sciences, except my mate who state ranked chem last yr out of nowhere (accelerated)

Getting English and Bio back on Thursday... lol

scared for bio and English mod B

there's a clique of about four people in bio that have it as their priority and basement it all the time and teachers also tend to favor them a lot.. not sure if it's because they are THAT good or just because they like them. But the science faculty teachers are pretty tough markers in my school so idk lol

that would be an easy state rank, but schools mark lighter than the hsc. my bio teacher(before i dropped it) said top marks for science were around 80 raw. top marks for my school that i know of in trials were:
MX1 - 100
MX2 - 92
Chem - 90
Bio - 91
physics - 89

Are you talking about for the HSC? If so that's bs lol. Deswa last year got 90 raw and didn't state rank.

Pretty pleased with my results so far...My school did CSSA
Legal - 86/100 (2nd)
Economics - 66/100 (Really bad imo as I mixed something up in an essay... Came fifth or something)
4U - 63/85 (teacher took out some questions on topics which we hadn't covered. Came 3/5 but nonetheless happy with the result)
Std English - 97/105 (Topped grade, really happy as I'm shooting for a B6)

idk, that's just what she told me.
It's wrong lol, especially when the biology band 6 cut-off is 78, 80 isn't going to be anywhere near top of the state. A state rank is usually a high 96 or low 97 HSC mark, which would equate to about 91+ raw.

Yeah quite happy haha

Raw marks were:
Sect 1: 14/15
Sect 2: 13/15
Sect 3:14/15
Mod A: 18/20
Mod B: 20/20
Mod C: 18/20
Anyone doing Extension 2 would be happy with those results IMO, let alone doing Standard.

When you say band 6 cut off is 78, do you mean the number that goes on your report and doesn't have anything to do with your ATAR? Also, it's the 'TWM' that gets scaled right?

he means raw mark cut off for a band 6 is 78, but obviously a band 6 is also affected by your internals

I know raw mark of 78 = band 6, what I'm confused about is, does that band 6 you get go onto your report or is that band 6 used to calculate your ATAR

which report do you mean? and yes, when you refer to a band 6, you are usually referring to your HSC mark, which is then scaled to go towards your atar calculation if it is in your top 10 units.
