I'm afraid you'll have to, if you want to change course preferences online after submission.
Just read this on UAC's website:
Student numbers
To apply you must enter the Year 12 student number that is allocated to you by your State or Territory Board of Studies.
If your student number has spaces or dashes, leave these out.
If you are attempting both an Australian Year 12 and an International Baccalaureate (IB), use your Year 12 student number to apply, not your IB number, and then advise UAC of your IB on a paper Supplementary Form A. The Supplementary Form A can be found inside your copy of the UAC 2004 Guide.
If you are studying an Australian Year 12 in:
New South Wales - your number is 7 or 8 digits - if your number is 7 digits you must add 0 eg 01234567
Still doesn't work for me, even with 8 and 9 digits (+1 and without the 1 or 0 in front).
