I do. But I also realise that the kids who state rank in Maths that want to do BSc(Adv Maths) come to USyd and there's a reason for that, they care more about actually teaching good material
False. I know a couple of kids that state ranked 4U last year, they happen to do BComm/BSc (Adv Maths) UNSW, BComm/LLB UNSW, etc...

uac preferences :)

So I just altered my uac preferences and was curious to what everyone else has finalised if already done ..
I'll start with mine:

1. Med/surgery - UWS
2. Med (JMP) - UNE / UNCLE
3. Dental Science - CSU
4. Physiotherapy - CSU
5. Physiotherapy - ACU
6. Nursing (Advanced Studies) - USYD
7. Nursing (Advanced) - UWS
8. Speech and Hearing Sciences - MQ
9. Applied Science ( Speech Pathology ) - USYD

I'm thinking of moving my 8th and 9th preferences upward and above my nursing preferences , but not so sure .. Also anyone else willing to relocate to get their degree?

^ I don't mean to start any biased comparison 'discussions' (arguments), but isn't USYD/UNSW better for science?

I'm not finalising until the days before offers come out.

I'll relocate if I can afford it.

That depends on how you define "better".
well, how do you define it?

"Better" meaning superior teaching quality, equipment, study environment (I'm pretty UNSW "beats" the others on that one with their pretty buildings. )

One thing that really lures me toward USYD though is their "Year In Industry" program for Chem majors, is there an equivalent at UNSW? Curious. I won't be at uni until 2014, but I'd still like to know about them having done some research already. The uni websites are somewhat confusing though

If you have a question, you come to the Open Day or email or call them.

Having personal satisfaction.

If that's what you feel is important than good for you. Unfortunately, as things like personal response to teaching styles and study environments are largely subjective, I do not wish to base my decisions on such matters since I, like you, have never studied at USYD/UNSW/MACQ and experienced this superiority firsthand. Hopefully I will have a slightly more informed opinion after Open Days so that I can make a decision which I am happy with.

At the moment, I am leaning towards the Macquarie Advanced Science programme as I find it more appealing than the equivalent degree at USYD/UNSW; it is much more personalised, it has a strong research focus, and the mentoring setup within the degree is comprehensive and well developed.

UAC Preferences

Has anyone finished filling in their UAC preferences yet??

I still don't know what I want to do, so mine is still empty (only one month left to fill it in T_T)

Also anyone filling in the one for interstate applications? Any chance that there are other people considering USYD and Melbourne Uni? Which one would you prefer?

Just put in anything. Even a broad Arts or Science degree at any uni in NSW. You can ALWAYS change them up until just before main round offers I think. So don't stress :)
