They really love to take their sweet time.

Absolutely ridiculous.

First year maths examinations, you complete in like the first week of the examination period. Two of my other subjects did not even have a final examination. And still not one result. :/

As I understand it, a common paradigm is for individual Schools/Departments to hold "Examiners meetings" where the coordinators get together and discuss marking/scaling/moderating/what-have-you. They do this with all the marks for that subject (or that year-level) and then release them as a bunch. If you've done an exam in the first week, it may be that you're waiting for an exam that happened in the second week, or the examiners meeting hasn't happened yet. Or, they might be taking their time to make sure you get as many marks as they can give you!

Standard practice is to have all exams marked and then everything is collated across the faculty to calculate the distribution.

Essentially from what I've been told, no marks are released until the whole faculty/school is ready.

Edit: jet beat me to the post.

Regarding Maths, you'll have to blame us honours students (there's about 30 of us) for making it take so long. We got our results in the second week of the exams (which was the week after we finished the last exam) so I think the first year maths exams are close to finished by now. I know a few phd students who are currently marking them (together with lecturers). I suspect the results will be released by the end of this week at the latest.
