UNSW Business School Co-OP vs Non Co-Op (1 Viewer)

Sigh, still a little unsure whether I should be pursuing co-op or settling with my desired double degree (Law/Comm or Comm/Econ)

If I were you, I would go with the double degree. Working while studying isn't easy at all, like it's hard enough on its own - it's even harder if you're not really sure and questioning yourself 24/7

Like I know that jobs don't get handed to you on a silver platter but I feel that as long as you're passionate, good at what you do, hard working and practical, you'll be able to create opportunities for yourself

ATAR wise you just need a 96. Which was always the case for commerce.

You need way more than just ATAR to get co-op; lots of extracurriculars and etc. And there's also an interview phase.


And yes there is money involved.

Unlike courses, scholarships are more oriented towards you as an all rounded individual, rather than just an academic.

Not to be taken literally but I reckon to get co-op without enough extracurricular activity would require 99.5+ on top of blitzing the interview.

I know But there are plenty of people who probably do a little bit of volunteer + sports + leadership (I hear Edinburgh...something is very rewarding to have)

Duke of Ed is really demanding but can't deny it is one of the most valuable things out there

QAQ Yeah, curse myself for not really caring about doing anything but studying until late this year. Hopefully my contribution in all the running charities for various cancers can show I tried

Definitely ^^ The double degree has always been something I was determined to do. The Co-Op is tempting to try and apply for with its work experience opportunities
