Re: UNSW Food - Expensive or Cheap?

The chemist there is cheaper than all of the ARC stores (by a $1 or so on a 600ml bottle say) for drinks and a lot of other things also.

There is 'cheap' food to be found, also more expensive food. Quad food court has the best food (western mostly, some asian) unless you like Indian food. If you like Indian or more ethnic food you will find the Matthews Food Court more appealing.

There is a subway on Avocca Street, a 5 to 10 minutes walk from UNSW.

The sushi isn't that badly priced (for sushi), still a rip off though.

butter chick was $6.90 with rice. middle price range, but needs to be about $5 like HS. Probably UNSW charges some crazy rents.

It's upstairs at the Roundhouse somewhere, not sure where exactly though as I've never seen it/been there before.

Re: UNSW Food - Expensive or Cheap?

there's maccas across the road, flash your student ID and get a free upsize.
Lol I should have realised this earlier, I didn't know such thing existed until second yr.

:( One thing I miss high school about is the cheap food.

Anyway, food prices at unsw varies, but on average I think it's fairly expensive, and yes I blame the uni for imposing too much rent. During first year I spent extravagantly on food ($10+/day). By second semester I realise this can't go on so I began looking hard for cheap food. The best place for cheap food is still maccas. $7 you get a 3 course meal :p (drink + burger + chips). I can get cheaper food (~$5) at food court but that won't include drink and the urge to get a flavoured drink after food always end up costing me more. So yeh..maccas ftw.
