Ash, the safety thing can be taken care of easily, just make sure you arrive early, and that you have a friend or someone in the same area (so he can't tell that you have someone else, since that can put them off). Just make sure you can quickly leave, if need be, so during the day or afternoon is probably best, when there is alot of people around. That is, don't go to a coffee shop that is out of the way, go to somewhere on broadway or something.

This would not be wierd if you were good looking. Hot chicks get hit on all the time. What he did has been done before. You have a short conversation which MUST be interupted (ie, you say you have to go or a bus comes etc) then, before you leave, you ask for her number.

He was probably standing at that bus stop all night, picking up a new chick for every bus. I mean shit, "what's the time?" seems like a pretty standard pick up line if you ask me. I would talk about some other ones, but I can't give away my secrets, can I.

Well he seems keen, he said he would call and he did.
I think you should go out and give him a chance and see what happens. You might even have a good time. It will give you both a chance to get to know eachother, and then you can decide if you want to see him again or not.
