I know a Sister/Brother combo
Ruse/Grammar.

They drive around in their peugot listening to classical music pumping.
I tried to generate a conversation about the Wallabies rugby union team, (as i played union with the brother when we were smaller) and the girl goes

"sport is for nitwits"

gold.

The best thing though is that these people can get into uni and whatever but many companies aren't going to hire people who don't have social skills / can't work in a team.

A lot of hard-working and intelligent students would be equipped with the necessary social skills, aside from the arrogant or pompous. From my experience, students who perform well at school are generally easy-going and easy to work with. Albeit, some are quiet and aren't as outspoken. Nevertheless, I'd imagine that those equipped with the necessary work ethic to do well at school would also be equipped with the ability to work co-operatively in a team or autonomously.

Hey Bookie, I realised why you said JR isn't good, I understand what you mean, I agree lol academically they are good, but everything else they're probably crap

I'm not gonna argue about their academic status, but otherwise, I never hear of the James Ruse guy whos breaking into the junior kangaroos squad, Theres no JR guys winnings ADFA recognition medals, theres no JR guys who are gonna become the next Vanessa May. If you go to JR, more often than not all you will come out with is a number which will get you into a uni course which you probably dont even want to attend personally.

One of my teachers said, when he was at homebush, they would play Ruse in rugby in the CHS comp, one year Ruse had to pull out of a fixture because the kids had to study, the following year they were kicked out of the CHS rugby comp. On a side note, i saw on the australian schoolboy rugby site, Ruse has had 3 reps, that must have been a long time ago. High has had 16, Joeys 75

imo the ruse ppl aren't that bad as they're stereotyped to be... Sure there are a few who epitomise that stereotype, but there are many others who are as normal as anyone else I can think of.. sure they may not go out as much, or they may not be that interested in sport, but in terms of friendliness and sociability- they're as normal as you or I.

srsly u ppl out there hu bag out ruse ppl why dun u guys actually try to meet more rusies? granted, there are some of us who fit into the stereotypical "ruse student" image perfectly, but u noe, that's onli a minority of us, and even these "nerds" are really cool once you get to know them properly

we do go out, we do meet people, and we're streetsmart enough not to get raped by some drunken retard with a chainsaw up his arse, which is more than i can say about a load of people

we do play sport, which again, is more than i can say about the people i talk to from other schools! we're not fantastic at sport, but we're not rotten logs either- in our district we do come first, second, third after each season! (ehehe not all but still a very nice happy amount XD)

rusies do soooo many extracurricular stuff- myself i've done src, choir, peer support, canteen, netball, basketball, hockey, musical hair n makeup, charity concerts and a load of other stuff!!! i do as much, even more, than some of the ppl i meet from out of school

ruse ppl are competitive, i agree, but if you're srs about ur studies, then being in a competitive environment is good for you, coz it pushes you to work just that little bit harder, not to beat sum1 else, but because if your friends can do it, so can you

o yeh and bout the nitwit chick i agree she sounds lyk a bitch but most of us are nice (i promise XD)

but otherwise before you guys bag out ruse ppl for being nerds, think about just how many rusies you know! geez, every school has at least one stereotypical nerd!!

There are some that endlessly dedicate themselves to the sport they love, even dangerously, may I say. Then there are some that dedicate themselves to religion, to their music, to reading, to partying (I pity the fool)

Anyway, you know where I'm going with this. Maybe they love study. Maybe they really, and I mean really, take pride in high grades (just as a sportsman would to a trophy).

If that's what makes them happy, and makes them them (even if they inevitably have to face up to social bastardism) then so be it.


Ruse people are pretty cool. Especially those admirable ones who do dedicate some time to the social part of their life.

You'd be suprised, I still get alot of "it". I can't think of telling anyone passed the first week of class what school I went to but alot of people still bring "it" up. To be honest, it's easier to bag Shore and Knox boys, since they all stick together like glue and conform quite nicely to stereotypes. I'm sure that Ruse people at UNSW cop an earful too, they have their own little cafeteria, and have Ruse jersey days... *sniggers*.
